Since 1985 when it was prescription 2% I started. When approved in late 90’s to buy over counter bought the 5% - was so expensive back then! Now 5 bucks a bottle is just hard to resist and should be used by everyone thinning.

Janey hates to be upstaged! I started in 1989 and it was supposed to help my transplant grow in well but nope, not so much and in terms of hair with minoxidil, no, never unless you mean oral minoxidil, the last year and then yeah. The hair bursts out everywhere which is eh but okay since hair removal exists and all but only oral min grows hair for the most part unless you have lots of an enzyme called sulfurotransferase in your scalp tissue but oral min creates it's own via the liver. Now that some of us look back, it makes sense why there was so much excitement about oral min, absolutely since that was how they tested it at Upjohn, orally. Had they used this med for high blood pressure topically if such a thing is possible, no one would know that the stuff worked well, ever, really except for maintenance and most don't expect maintenance from Min, just growth.

It was outrageously expensive then like TS says and I don't remember people murmuring about minoxidil sheds all of the time on 2 percent so it probably was and is, a titration point to follow to keep hair above all, more so than to restore it with topical min.
