Anyone else in the same boat?

Okay.

I have started to recede around my temples.

It is not bad yet and no one in my family is totally bald and hair loss did not start till much later in life.

But I have a problem...

My forehead is incredibly protruding, prominent and large. Potato like some might say!

I guess a bit like Aaron Pauls from Breaking Bad but not more protruding out at the front, with deeper set eyes.

I am absolutely convinced and also terrified that as my hair recedes up the temples I am going to be really weird looking (think Klaus Nomi)

Everyone in my family says I am being stupid and it is not true, I am seeing a psychologist who says the same thing. However, I can't see what they are talking about. But I know I am useless at knowing what other people think of the way I look.

I guess I am trying to find other people who are in the same boat and what they are doing about it? Learning to cope? Doesn't bother them?

Or what anyone on here thinks? Do you know anyone who looks similar?!

I have included a photo of my hair on my head totally pulled back... (I am leaning forward in this a bit so I think it looks bigger!)

Any comments (as honest as you want to be) are appreciated!

I am in your boat. I have recession but am older with not much family history of baldness. I have what people call a "strong" forehead which is larger but good (just passing along what people say). I think the angle in the pic is distorting it. Can you take another?

lol, I know terrifying and unfair isn't it? Becoming progressively more and more "weird looking" (in other peoples eyes,) due simply to one thing (male pattern baldness) that is completely out of your control. I have a similar headshape to you (with much more advanced hairloss at the front), so I can relate.

Luckily for you (if your username is anything to go by) you're already in your late 20s, so if you do have male pattern baldness it can't be that aggressive and if you started taking a finasteride + minoxidil medicine combo, it would stop it dead in its tracks for years, might even give you some regrowth.

This is literally all you have to do in that event.

To be absolutely sure though that you are receding, maybe it would help if you posted an overhead pic of your hairline with bright overhead lighting.

I can't seem to upload any more photos!

But it is definitely thinner at the temples. I got a really short buzz cut and it looks a lot better than I thought!

I'm really not keen on taking finasteride, and to be honest if it is just going to delay it then its not for me.

Would you consider getting a hair transplant?

If i could get a transplant that could give me enough hair to have a buzz cut even at NW3 I would be over the moon!

Damn the rest of you with your normal heads!!

I think your head IS normal. You are just tilted towards the camera. Hairline is good as well.

Mate you actually have pretty thick hair, going by the photo with ya hair back.

In my opinion, yes you have a largish forehead. I don't believe in sugar coating things.
But... will it be enough for society to take note??? I don't know?

You see I'm dealing with exactly the same thing. Well worse, I think....hahaha.
You see my damn forehead seems to go up and out in a massive bulbous, light bulb shape.

It disgusts me...I loath it with every fibre of my being.
My fringe can kinda cover it at the moment.
But when the wind blows... Well let's just say, I've already got some disapproving looks and comments from people who I thought would except me, no matter what.
And this has really opened my eyes to a lot.

Didn't take me long to figure out that when you commit the social crime of exposing a massive OFFENSIVE forehead....Well, gentle society feels the need to admonish your ***.
And admonish you loudly, in front of others.
I committed a social crime for which of have NO control over!!!

I had NO control over the forehead I was given. Nor can I control the ****in' wind!!!!!!!

So...when my hair loss reaches a certain point and I can't cover this ugly ****in piece of ****e forehead..I'm gunna take myself out if this petty, judgemental cesspit that is society and human interaction.

I will be at peace. That's if I don't burn for my crime. I pray every night to God to just let me take myself out and don't punish me for it. Please!!

That's all I ask.

It makes me sick that some lucky bustards are born with a gentle forehead, while others are cursed to look like a freak and be treated as such if they loose too much hair.
**** it all!!!!

Next time you're out and about take note of men with hair loss.
You will find that some men can get away with it, some actually suit the look, while others look horrendous.
The common denominator???
Shape and size of the forehead.
That's the whole story right there.

You either become a pedo looking freak or an exceptable balding man.
And YES society is that shallow!!!
Never overestimate the intelligence of the majority.

Looks ARE just about everything to these simple minded fools.

Rant over.

BTW... I wish you good luck, and to NOT take my advice.
It's my struggle. Had to get it off my chest.
The longer I have spend in society, the more I want out.
