I feel like my energy levels dropped down significantly and i happen to want to sleep a lot of times at mid day, even without having done much.

Did anyone else experience fatigue on finasteride, which you havent had before? Did it go away or you discontinued with the treatment?

You’re so f*****g neurotic, you’ve been on finasteride for barely a month and you’ve had every side from gyno to libido issues and penile shrinkage. Just calm down and ride it out
And? Do you imply i didnt have it and its nocebo? I asked the direct quesiton, i dont need your bullshit opinion on my psychotype, keep it with yourself next time, thanks.

I started finasteride about 4 days ago. The ones I use are Damocare tablets from Korea. I have started with 0.25mg ED by breaking their 1mg tablet into quarters. However, I have also experienced the feeling of fatigue about 2 hours after taking one. It is a similar feeling I get when I take a sleeping pill (which I've not taken for years). The feeling of fatigue lasts for nearly a whole day. I take the pill early in the afternoon and the tiredness doesn't wear off until around lunch time the following day.
I did use Propecia in 2012 for about 8 months and do not remember getting this feeling. So either my body is different now, or there is something in the Damocare tablets that isn't present in Propecia.

To any other finasteride users who experience this, did the feeling of fatigue go away after a while of taking it? I really don't want to stop taking it, but I won't be able to continue if it keeps making me feel so lethargic.

Yeah, finasteride did that, and made my hair shed worse than it was already being lost, made my skin very pale and almost greyish, not feeling or looking like I was full of life.

It works ok for some people, it did not work out for me.

I would not ride out finasteride if it makes you feel awful, it's a sign that it will not get better, it did not for me.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It certainly doesn't sound promising.
How long were you on finasteride for, and on what dose if you don't mind me asking?

I can't recall exactly because it was a very stressful time, but I would say after 2 weeks I started feeling sides, I was absolutely fine until then and it was not gradual. I woke up one day feeling like sh*t and just "off".

I however was desperate for something to work so I kept at it, I want to say like 2 to 2.5 months it might have been three, but I recall that by the time I gave up I was more of a mess than when I started it and I am honestly glad I got off it.

I went back to using a concentrated beta sitosterol complex (the active ingredient found in saw palmetto only concentrated) and I wish I could find the webpage but there was some literature talking about how beta sitosterol worked as a slightly less potent alternative to finasteride only with dramatically less reported side effects, and that is my experience.

I use "new roots" brand sterols and sterolins complex and have done so on and off for 10 years, it was what helped my hair recover from a patterned and sudden hair loss event in my late 20s.

I had virtually no side effects at all when I was in my late 20s but as I approached 40 it did because even though my testosterone is still clinically high, "too high" as my doctor has stated - my body for some reason is not converting as much testosterone to estrogen, and I think that's basically the kiss of death for people who take finasteride and it doesn't work out for them.

This is something the makers of finasteride should research but I believe I am correct in this, that those who do not respond well to finasteride still have low estrogen levels after taking the medication and thus feel essentially like they have menopause.

My estrogen went up dramatically although not with any serious side effects at all in my late 20s after being on the beta sitosterol for a while and it only helped my skin and hair, I didn't have gyno or excessive body fat, I just had my lovely mop of hair back and healthy, hydrated skin.

These days I have to either take a beta sitosterol capsule every other day or half dose it. I am now a firm believer that estrogen must shore up any loss of DHT for the majority of finasteride users to see positive benefits otherwise you just feel menopausal. My hypothesis now is that people who are androgen sensitive have some need for DHT that testosterone itself cannot fill on its own, estrogen paradoxically must fill the hormonal balance otherwise you just feel like garbage and your skin and hair look like sh*t.

Estrogen makes hair grow back period, limiting testosterone and DHT is only half the battle. I am not talking sh*t about finasteride, it's basically a life saver for some people who have androgenic hair loss, but I believe there is a not insignificant portion of men who simply don't have the hormonal profile for it to work and thus you get my result.

I was entirely hopeful that finasteride would help and it did not no matter how hard I stuck with it, some medications are not ideally suited for some people, that's just how it is.

For me the end point was the incessant shedding, my wiener when non-erect felt like it was lifeless and just hanging off me, I know that sounds funny but it really wasn't at the time, and honestly the cardiac symptoms, the feeling like something was off about my heart and my pulse and overall just feeling really tired and as if my body was operating at a lowered capacity.

Incidentally enough I tried RU58841 in the hopes that it would provide site specific androgen protection to my scalp and I knew the rumors that it had the potential to go systemic (I believe this is partly the carrier liquid's responsibility) and those same funny cardiac symptoms came back hard when I took RU (at least I know the stuff I bought was legit). They came back more quickly and more pronounced than it did on finasteride.
