Anyone else suffer from dizziness when using Rogaine?

I use Rogaine foam on both my crown and hairline and I usually apply it 1 hr after I shower from having a 6 mile jog. Most of the time its ok, but on occasion (im not sure what causes this) but i assume its because my blood pressure has dropped really low due to the Minoxdil and I feel like fainting and have to lie down. The other night i felt so bad, felt like i was gonna die. I think maybe i applied it to soon after my jog and the veins were still kinda popping in my head from the run (the pump) and perhaps applying the Roagine on the hairline is a bad idea at this time as the intake of the drug is increased? I dont know just a theory.

Anyone else suffer from dizziness on foam?

Yeah man I get lightheaded/dizzy and feel wierd/bad after applying it. I think it's because the foam causes a lot of systemic absorption. Maybe the times you feel much worse you've put more on than usual?

Also, the liquid doesn't have this effect on me so I'm sure the foam absorbs much more into the blood stream.

yeah ur right. I dont measure how much foam to put on because its almost impossible to do so and apply without it having turning into a liquid. So sometimes i screw up and apply more than i should by accident so thats a possible cause also.

ugh when will end..

Dizziness is a tell tale sign of low blood pressure (bp).
1. Minoxidol was and still is taken for high blood pressure. Though I have high BP I don't think it has that much of a effect on lowering it....could be wrong though

2. I'm a keen jogger and I can drop BP from an hourly run, from say 140/90 to 90/65. I had a DR freak out about this sudden change.

I get a bit dizzy bending over and coming straight back again, after a run. Next time you see your DR, mention the dizziness and also mention Rogaine and the running. Best to keep on top of this!

The same thing pretty much happened to me except when I was in bed at night it felt like my heart was beating fast. This was when I was taking about 2 ties the amount of rogaine that I should have been. So I stopped for a few months and then my hair was falling out like crazy so I got on the foam and took a little less then the reg amount and haven't had any problems since. I have notied though that if I use a bit extra that I get very very sleepy.

Well it happend again last night. And left plenty of time between my jog and application. I actually woke up around 2am and I felt incredibly sick and light headed, I felt like vomiting. Its bizzare, that this is occuring now. Maybe this is not minoxidil related. But i suspect it is. If this continues I may have to lay off the minoxidil, because at the moment im not eating alot of calories, coz im dieting pretty hard to get my abs to come out.

where does it say that the foam causes more sytemic absorbtion?

The first time I went to the gym after starting on minoxidil (generic, liquid), I did experience dizziness and a fast heartbeat. I was sitting low in a leg machine resting waiting to use the chest machine, then I got up probably too fast to go to the chest machine, and while I was walking, I felt really bad and broke out in a sweat. I had never experienced that before while working out. But after relaxing for a minute or two, I felt well enough to continue working out.

I now know to not make sudden movements. Like when I am sitting and have to get up, do so slowly, no jerky motions.

Yeah man thats it! You struck the nail on the head. Im exactly the same. Since starting Rogaine Foam ive noticed that I suffer alot of almost Vertigo like symptoms, for example when I rise to quickly from a chair or from my bed. I never had that before using the foam. So I think ur onto something with that. Nice work.

Only way to find out if its the foam is just to not use for a day or two, and see if you get the same symptoms or not.. good luck dude

To update, I no longer have these symptoms. My body must have gotten used to the minoxidil.

Likewise! Its amazing how the body just learns to adapt. I use a hell of alot more foam now then I did before but rarely if ever suffer those dizzy phases like I reported towards the end of last year in this post.

Yeah I do feel dizzy sometimes after applying the foam. Sometimes I also feel that it accelerates my heartrate. The normal Kirkland minoxidil did fasten my heartrate ridiculous amounts but the foam isn't that bad on that aspect.

Been on CVS/Kirkland minoxidil 5% for two years, and it gave me blood pressure problems. The evil of minoxidil is that your organism sort of gets used to it until you get physically or emotionally stressed. So once you get stressed, beware of record breaking heart rates and feeling like you are 90 years old. I used to do BJJ and work out in gym before I started minoxidil. I had to quit all kinds of physical activity, even jogging and swimming! Catching me bluff at the poker table was very easy too. I stopped applying minoxidil in the August, and it helped me a lot, but I was still having blood pressure and heart rate problems until January! Only in February I could let myself go skiing and not worry about fainting there.

In March I started using the Foam, since my hair looked awful. Just once per day, but two cups of it. I was OK until I decided to go to gym. Just one simple short exercise made my heart rate go through the roof. When I arrived home, I had about 120 bpm for two more hours. The problem is that I don't know any proven treatment that I can use instead of minoxidil :( My sister is joking that I have to choose between dying young and having bad hair. ;) I started using Revivo, but people here say that it is good for keeping hair - not regrowing it. However regrowing hair is what I need the most. Maybe I'll investigate apple polly of something of this kind, because hair does not matter if I'm ill.

Just don't use as much.
