Anyone gone in between hairs without shock loss?

My crown and runway on top are about 50% density. The hairs are definitely terminal and look healthy, but are just a bit thinner and showing more scalp.

Anyone ever been like that and had some transplants in between hairs to thicken that up? Or does that just cause shock loss even of nearly healthy hairs?
