I forgot to make this thread the other week. a homeless guy complimented me on my transformers shirt and when i said i would prefer one of the original animated series instead of michael bay's he asked me how old i was

even to this homeless guy i found it embarassing thinking of being a 23 year old baldie so i just lied and said i was 29 lol. f*** kinda regret it now

I never lied about it, but, on the other hand, I have often been mistaken for being 10-15 years older. Every time that happens, I feel suicidal.
i get "sir" nearly all the time

and i really feel you there. even just being self aware or looking in the mirror makes me hate it. i still feel young at heart, honestly wish i could have an extended childhood or teenagehood, and my mental issues make it so i'm staying home like a kid anyways, yet i look 35. sh*t is really jarring to my identity and soul

Yeah, the age thing gets me too. When I first started dating my last (and now ex-) girlfriend, it was particularly bad. None of her friends believed I was 19, all of them had me pegged in my late 20's at the very minimum. Three asked me what I did for a job. One called me f*****g 'Sir'.

Even with baldness people still think I'm young but I've not reached NW4 yet.

I remember roughly one or two years ago I went with my (four years younger) sister to help her audition for a choir.

Before the class, both she and I spoke to the choir conductor about how to join the choir, how much each lesson would be etc.

The conductor then introduced my sister and I by saying "class I would like you to meet xxxxx and her father". Everyone laughed and I just stood there in disbelief.

At least it was better than being asked if I'm sick like every time.

Enjoy it while you can. I was a bit of a special case in as much as I was by and largely a diffuse thinner but still experienced some frontal recession. What I'm trying to say is that I was NW2.5/3 at 17 and nobody so much as batted an eyelid. It was only when the mop started to thin out all over that I started looking 30+.

I'm 30 but people still think I'm in my early 20's.

I'm 30.
When I cover my hairline, people think I'm in my mid 20s.
When I expose my hairline, people think I'm in my mid 30s.

I totally understand. Better people think your 30 and look young for age than think you're 23 and look old for your age. Nobody wants to look 10 years older than their age, but male pattern baldness does that to everyone...

Nothing came to my mind from the list of deceases when people are forced to add years to their age instead of subtract to feel LESS embarrassed.

Totally grotesque.

I jumped from my teens just into adultery skipping youth (18-mid20) years.

That's rough dude. Did anyone correct the guy?

I'm going on 41. Not too long ago someone thought I was around 29-30.
I still have a pretty good youthful face.(never took up smoking).
But, if I were to cut my hair really short and let the pattern show, then I would look older.
Thank f*** I still have some coverage.

People thought I was mid twenties when I had a decent head of thick hair. Now, people ask, "how old are you" and when I respond with, "34" they look surprised and say, "oh, you're still young!", probably assuming I was forty. it makes me sick

I feel bad for a lot of you guys here
I have a kind hearted female friend who
occasionally helps me out of this unseasonable ageism encroachment.
When my anxiety has escalated to tantrum fits,
she helps me get ready and proceeds to roll me out the front door for a fun weekend stroll.
She's been talking about having a baby of her own for sometime now,
and so I think she also get's some benefit from it.

suck it up and start hitting the strip bars at 17! J/K

Seriously though me and my buddies used to go to the strip clubs at around 16, I wonder if my already progressing hairline was what got me in? I always thought it was my maturity and charm!

Rather than lying, I don't correct people who always mistook my age throughout my life.

1. When I was 18 (with a mature hairline), a girl aged 18 told my friends she liked me but was afraid that me being 25-26 could be an issue. I had to correct her.

2. When I was 25 a clerk said to me "this totally suits a person who like you is in their 30...something? 35?"
He thought I was basically 50% older than I was because of this lunacy. I did not correct him.

Hey @FootyStar, you're the one with alopecia areata right? So has all your hair fallen out at this point?

Out of curiosity, do you rock the dome most places you go? Where a hat? What about fake eyebrows/eyelashes and such? Is that a route you'd go down?
