I am considering having SMP (scalp micropigmentation - aka head tattoo) done as have suffered aggressive hair loss for over 17 years (in my 40's now). I am a pretty much bald on top as am a diffuse thinner.
I am of Chinese ethnicity and currently living in Hong Kong.
Background:
I have been using Regaine Extra strength (5% minoxidil) for the past 8 years, but it only seems to produce tiny vellus hairs which are almost invisible in the light. So my head looks completely bald in daylight.
I tried Propecia about 6 years ago, but stopped after about 9 months due to a couple of sides (which may or may not have been psychological). Shame as the drug definitely worked and my hair was coming back fast.
Back to the original point of my post. I am interested to hear from anyone who's had SMP done in Hong Kong, to learn more about your experience. Ideally, I would love to meet someone in person who's had it done to see what it actually looks like in natural light. Going to a SMP treatment centre is good too (and I have done this already), but I want to get objective feed back from someone who isn't try to sell it to me.
