Anyone Not Get Side Effects From Finasteride?

Everything I've read from the studies on Finasteride suggests that only small percentage of finasteride users get serious or long term sides. You wouldn't believe that though from the amount of people on here talking about how the drug screws you up and how it "ruined my life" ect. It just seems it's only the people who have had bad experiences from finasteride that want to talk about it (which I can understand) but it doesn't seem fair when they're apparently in the minority. I could see someone who hadn't researched the drug properly being scared off taking it if they only went on what they read on here.
So for balance I'd like the people who have had no sides or only minor sides to speak up.

I for one haven't gotten any side effects from finasteride besides positive side effects. I will say that early on, (first month or two) I had very mild testicular pain but this could have legitimately been a placebo as I had heard that people usually experience testicular pain in the early stages of finasteride. Other than that my semen did get slightly more watery but is now back to normal. And ironically my sex drive is higher than ever. Oddly enough, I don't get morning wood nearly as often as i did before, but at the same time, I have no problem getting and maintaining erections. I would say that at least so far, I have been a very good responder to finasteride at almost six months in. I have also had noticeable regrowth on the crown, and I'm considering posting a success story if the positive progress continues. Keep in mind that I try to eat healthy as often as possible, lots of fruits and vegetables and I exercise regularly. I truly believe that this has helped me reduce any potential side effects from finasteride, but this is completely anecdotal.

I would assume the vast majority of balding people don't create accounts on hair loss forums.

Those that do are probably more inclined to share negative experiences rather than positive ones.

There are plenty of people (millions?) on finasteride with no or little sides.

I'm on it, very minimal to no sides

If you now rarely get morning erections then that is a side effect and suggests your body doesn't quite desire sex like it did before.

I've never taken Finasteride, but I do take Dutasteride and have never suffered any negative side effect of any sort. Another member here by the name of zzzzz who also takes the same treatment never had any adverse effect either. These 5-AR inhibitors have a good safety profile really.

I'd say that most people who experience minor side effects but they don't last at all might report to a study that they've experienced no side effects. I lost the ability to keep an erection for a couple of weeks, but it balanced out and now I experience no noticeable side effects. Therefore, I might consider those two weeks an outlier and report "no side effects". So perhaps that's part of why the studies report incredibly low percentages of people with sides.

As for finasteride itself, it has been one of the best decisions of my life. I have been on it only 2 months and have noticed considerable crown regrowth and some (but not yet substantial) hairline regrowth. Hoping for many more months or a year of regrowth and then years of maintaining.

I got sides, but other than the early testicular ache that lasted a short time, they were actually all positive sides. I had majorly increased libido, motivation, and just generally felt good on finasteride. I also quit finasteride a few years ago and had PFS but am thinking of going back on finasteride in part because of the positive effects I experienced on the drug. A lot of the really bad sides you hear from people are what happened when they discontinued finasteride.

True. But this happens with normal aging as well. There are also other factors at play.

For what its worth, im on 1mg finasteride ED and 75mg RU ED with 0 sexual side effects, in fact i'm having a very hard time trying to do nofap lol.

The only side effect i had from finasteride was minor ball ache for the first few days, but it didnt effect my libido and went away, hasn't come back

Thought I had sides the first week I was on the drug, but I have horrible health anxiety so possibly was in my head (as probably is for a lot). Wasn't erection related though. No sides since. Hasn't stopped my hair loss though so may not be having the same effect on my body as it does on most. Almost everyone I hear that has sides was a strong responder to finasteride. And I agree people don't post unless they are having adverse effects from the drug. The first year I was on finasteride I didn't have any hair loss forum account. Now that my hair is continuing to shed and get worse I made an account to try to solve my problems. If finasteride cured my hair loss and didn't give me sides I guarantee I would not have an account on here.

I did notice my weight lifting went up significantly since starting finasteride. Possibly testosterone is higher? May be unrelated though.

No, it's odd really, I don't get morning wood very often but I still very much desire sex. I'm 21, so sex is still something that is on my mind constantly, sometimes to my detriment. For example, there is no way in hell I would be able to do nofap, I wouldn't last a week.

Forget a week, I could barely go 2 days without fapping it's actually really frustrating. But I was like this before finasteride too

Lol yeah everytime I try nofap I end up fapping more than if I wasn't doing it. Don't know how people last 1 month+

Lol how is having PFS count as no sides? What form of PFS was it? Is it gone now since you are thinking of getting back on finasteride?

While on finasteride there were only positive sides. It wasn't until I stopped finasteride that the bad sides came on strong after about a month. As for pfs I had everything really other than ED. I did manage to feel major improvements after a yr with some diet, heavy weightlifting, and just time.

Good to hear you're getting better bro! :) As for getting back on it, I would weigh pros and cons first, if you got PFS once you can get it again. Aren't you scared though, from sides lasting a year?

Oh absolutely. That's certainly a huge part of what's kept me from getting back on it. If I got back on I could never quit again so I'd have to be on it for life, and who knows how the body would react a second time after having pfs, or long term. So yea it'd be a huge gamble.

I took Propecia for 3 years, kept all of my hair, and had side effects.

My friend has taken Propecia for 12 years, kept all of his hair, and has had no side effects.

He's now 50 years old and his girlfriend complains that he wants it every day.

I took finasteride for 8 months. Had ball ache in the beggining and prostate discomfort but that went away after a few months. I also had alot of "positive" sides throughout finasteride increased libido and just generally felt good on it. Recently I switched to dutasteride and im experiencing pretty bad sides, extreme anxiety, bad ball ache, prostate discomfort, and all types of pains and wierd feeling all over my body.
