Wondering if anyone on here has any experience of regular use of coenzyme q10 or ubiquinol? Just looking for genuine feedback from anyone who has been disciplined enough to take either of these at a regular dose for at least several months, and if so what dosage and any effects negative or positive to hair or general well-being?

Not interested in people's theoretical 'knowledge' of whether it may or may not help hairloss or the usual responses to anything other than the big 3 is snake oil, it won't lower DHT etc etc, it's really boring.

Bump

The reason for me asking is that I've yet to find a single negative post on health/medical forums all positive for this stuff relating to all kinds of things, probably why it's gone up so much in price over the years and loads of celebrities claim to use it. Surely someone on here has used a high dose in their regime? Although I'm kind of hoping not.

I've used 100 mg of ubiquinol for years. I can definitively say that it's given me more energy for lack of a better word. No noticeable affects on hair tho.

I've started 300mg of Q10, 2 days ago already feel the benefits in energy, tempted to get ubiquinol soon. Going to be strict with at least 300mg as the trial I read in which hair volume and thickness was improved was with several months on 500mg. I can't remember if this was Q10 or ubiquinol though.

When I was put on Lipitor for cholesterol over a year ago they told me to take 400mg of CoQ10 along with it, not sure why but I have. Haven't seen anything good or bad happen to me. Its pretty expensive though (CVS store brand is about $50 for a bottle of 40 pills, though they often have a "buy one get one free sale")

I've noticed the high price lately, pretty much the most expensive thing in my local health stores, it never used to be this expensive years ago which I generally see as a sign it has true benefits otherwise the price wouldn't have quadrupled (comparable price wise for example high grade manuka honey are science backed proven products unlike 95 percent of the cheaper stuff in store). Time will tell if it helps with my hair but it's naturally present in every human cell and deminishes with age, so can't hurt imo even if it just helps boost other things I'm doing.

I'm also feeling better already, no question on this. No idea if my blood was lacking Q10 previously as haven't had any tests done but in theory everyones reduces as they get older, again another reason for the high price as very difficult to raise Q10 levels through diet alone.
