When is this a good idea? When is it a bad idea?

My situation: I'm 32, NW3 approximately, been thinning for about ten years. finasteride would be good, I also have acne, and maybe urinary issues, not sure.

However, I might also have high estrogen. My sex drive is already low, and associated problems, for example, so I'm in a catch 22.

I will definitely have my DHT and estrogen levels tested regardless in the coming weeks.

Definitely get a hormone panel before you make any deductions regarding potential treatment. I have a bounty of AIs at my disposal (mostly aromasin), and I've taken a couple here and there while on finasteride. That said, estrogen is highly implicated in male sexual function, and hair growth alike. From a sexual stand point, having too little estrogen would cause many more ED/libido related side effects, trust me. I made the mistake of taking 2.5mg of Femera(letrozole) (thought it was my liquid finasteride) and I felt like bag of s*** for like a week. I completely tanked all the estrogen in my body, and I paid for it dearly. I couldn't get an erection, and if I did it was like a pool noodle. I also shed hair like a golden retriever, it was awful. Not to mention, there is always an estrogen rebound after the AI is eliminated (not the case with aromas in however), which can also throw your body out of Wack.

If im ever nervous about not being able to get a boner (from the finasteride) and I know my GF is coming over, I'll just pop 10-20mg tadalafil and my tent is pitched on demand for about 36 hours. It's awesome, but I digress.

Don't start messing around with your hormones of your don't have, especially if you're taking Finasterise to begin with. Your body has evolved with fine tuned mechanisms and feedback systems in order to ensure balance, and if that balance is thrown too far left or right (especially when it comes to hormones) it usually doesn't turn out well.

Digidako, what kind of numbers in the hormone panel would lead to what kind of conclusions / treatments? Which hormones are necessary to look at?
