Anyone Tried Salt Spray/beach Spray?

I know girls have used this stuff for ages but ther's also salt spays aimed at men on the market too. In case you didn't know it's a styling product that gives you voluminous, wavy "beach hair". While it's not marketed specifically as a hair thickening product it definitely makes your hair look much thicker while at the same time giving it volume and texture.
I personally love this stuff. As a guy who has both thinning and frizzy hair this sorts all my problems out at once without the stiffness of gel or clay. The only slight drawback is if you use it too much it can leve your hair quite dry (it is "salt" spray after all).
I would definitely recommend this as a good styling product for people with medium to long thinning hair.

Thanks, may give it a go. I saw one last week in Boots

I'd personally recommend it. It not only makes your hair look thicker but also gives it a wavy, beach style. Spray into slightly damp (not soaking) hair then dry with a hair dryer and scrunch if you want it more wavy. If you're not looking for curls then just spay into dry hair. My god I sound like a right girl, lol!

Not going for wavy but anything to thicken appeals... Shampoo that thickens, never does for me, I think it's all rubbish. Same as I think the DR Regen is doing nothing for me apart from maybe thinning it out more

It won't literally thicken your hair but it should give the appearance of being thicker. It's just a cosmetic effect, but a good one. I agree shampoos make a minor difference at best.

Aye I need in on this? What are some recommended brands or the brand you've used @Funkymonk1 @dralex

Pretty sure it's a women's product but I like the smell. Probably are better ones out there. This ones only $10 tho. One downside is it makes your hair kind of dry feeling at first. I still use styling creams with it, just a good addition. (The 10x thicker was highly exaggerating, was just impressed it helped at all as most stuff is garbage)

Actually, I can't believe it but I use two of those. American Crew (best, in myop), and Axe.

D:fi D:Struct
D:fi Extreme Hold (stuff is insanely thick so don't use much of it)
I never used any styling products before I started losing hair. Mainly just use these for their thickening effects and to keep my miniaturized hairs from sticking out.

What do you think about axes new formula? For the messy look?

This new urban messy look is sh*t for my hair imo, I miss the old formula so much that I ran out and buy the last 5 bottles lol

Never heard or seen any of those, I've realized that Clays with minimal shine are best for me as a diffuse thinner, nothing with too strong of a hold tbh

Yeah I have diffuse thinning as well. The first one I listed makes my hair look a little worse at first, but after it dries and I comb it in my hair looks way thicker. I've tried a lot of different products. Not a huge fan of American Crew. Never tried axe tho. Assumed their products were all trash quality like the body spray.

My diffuse thinning isn't too extreme yet. I've probs lost close to 75% of my density but my hair density used to be insane. I can still make it look like I have a thick head of hair (excluding my hairline) with these styling products.

Same on all counts, and pretty much if I'm directly under a spot light I get massacred, but I'm pretty sure that ONLY happens in my bathroom and maybe elevators actually.

Also, please don't think I use nasty *** axe for anything other than hair styling purposes lol.

Glad to help mate. That's what these forums are for!

To be honest the only one I've tried so far is "Jonnys Chop Shop Texturising Salt Spray". I'd recommend it though - it's not overly expensive and it does everything is says it does on the bottle and more. Like I said, mens salt spay is a fairly recent product and ther's not a large selection on the market aimed specifically at men........yet. Of, course ther's nothing to stop you buying a womens salt spray - it's exactly the same stuff but with a different label!

Yeah it can make your hair dry, especially if you use too much. You can use a spray in conditioner after you've applied the salt spray.
