Applying to cops, urine test required, potential problems?

Hey guys
I have applied to become a cop, if I pass the next stage I will have to do a urine test, where they will check for God knows what.

A little backstory, I am 22 years old, thinning since I was 17, I started taking generic brands of propecia when I was 19. I never saw a doctor about my hairloss, I just ordered from the internet, because in Ireland doctors don't know much or seem to care about hairloss, and I was and still am quite embarrassed talking about my hairloss.

Tbh my hair has still thinned, I don't think it regrew any hair, but I am afraid to stop taking it in case it has stabilised my hairloss and should I stop my hair will get worse. I have been taking 1mg tablets of finpecia every day for approximately 3 years. But recently I have started to take 1mg every second day, as I have started to worry about potential side effects later in life. So far I have experienced no side effects, that I am aware of.

Anyway, to the point. When my urine is tested, I guess the propecia will show up in my system? Will this be a bad thing? I was thinking of stopping taking the finpecia before the urine test, because if it shows up in my urine questions might be asked, and it'll look dubious when I tell them I self prescribe by buying online.

Ideally, how long does it take to get out of the system. Months, weeks, years?

Thanks for any input

Chris

Hey,

Well, if they ask about the test results can't you just explain you take hairloss pills?

I don't see anything wrong with that. It's not like it's an illegal drug.

When you take the drug test, they will typically ask you what medications you are taking so they can look out for false positives. Just tell them you take Propecia. A non-recreational drug used for prostates and male pattern baldness certainly won't disqualify you from any job. The only complication is if Propecia is known to cause a false positive for an illegal drug. Google it if you want, but I doubt finasteride will show up as coke on any drug screen.

Thanks guys. Do you know how long it takes for propecia to get out of the body after a person stops taking it.

Propecia won't cause a false positive in any way. A drug test is usually testing on a 5 panel procedure looking for Cocaine, THC (marijuana), Opiate, PCP, and Amphetamine. If the the police department in your area is more thorough (which they should) then they will also test for Methamphetamine, Benzodiazepine, and Alcohol, which is called an 8-panel test (duh, right?) None of these results are anything even remotely close to the ingrediants for Propecia or most other hair care products. So don't worry, it won't cause any problems, but make sure you report it to them first also, you don't want to conceal any substance use, whether addictive or not to be hidden. Cool? I'm a drug rehab counselor (which is kinda ironic since I used to drink and smoke weed almost on a daily basis when I was in college, but now I've seen the error in my ways) so I've had the same questions asked to me about a dozen times with men that were trying to weazel out of treatment and explained that they "didn't relapse, I was just on Propecia" or something to that effect.

A 1mg dose of Propecia should be out of your body in 2-3 days max. It has a half-life of about a day, so even that is a generous estimate.

Get a positive on heroine, dude.

Why do you want to become a dog for the oligarchy, anyway?.
