Are Certain Makers Of Generic Finasteride More/less Effective Than Others?

I’ve been taking some form of finasteride for over 15 years now. I started when I was 21 taking brand name Propecia, and when the patent ran out and generics became available I began taking those.

I’ve mostly experienced positive results with finasteride over this time period, for a while it seemed like it stopped my hair loss dead in its tracks. I’ve experienced periodic sheds (most notably when I first started taking it) and a brief but frightening bout with side effects, but overall I think it’s helped a lot. In 15 years, my hairline has more or less stayed the same. It has receded slightly and my crown has begun to show but it’s still not a bald spot. I’m able to hide most of this wIth my hairstyle.

I have recently, in the last 3-5 months, been noticing more hairs coming out when I run my hands through my hair. At first I let it go but now it’s begun to worry me. I know the generic brand changes based on availability, the one I’ve been using most recently and during most of this shed is Camber, and just before that was taking Aura something until I switched to Camber in July. Are certain brands better/more effective than others? If so which ones? Is brand name Propecia more effective than generic? I’m willing to pay the difference if it is, I really want to keep my hair the way it is but I’m starting to feel the air on my crown and it’s eating at me. Thanks!
