you naturally have a lot of testosterone?

im nearly 18, started propecia and im a diffuse thinner, i take 1mg a day

i have very high libido, im hairy as hell, got a full beard, got a lot of muscle naturally, got a deep voice and my skin is oily

does this mean that im less likely to get the sexual side effects of propecia because my testosterone is already so high?

If anything, you're probably MORE likely to experience side effects, as testosterone converts to estrogen. It's elevated estrogen level which causes side effects from finasteride. Anyway, the only thing I believe that really matters when talking about risk, is body fat. Fat cells contains a lot of aromatase enzymes...

I believe so, yes. Use zinc if you run into trouble. A low dose every day could be taken as a precaution, but don't use anymore than RDA. Adjust to 50 mg a day if you get sexual problems.

Sounds good. :) I'm working on reducing the weight too. Research ketogenic diet, if you don't know what it is. It's very effective.

As someone who has tried pretty much every weight loss plan ever published, I am in no rush to ever go back to one of the many Ketogenic diets (Atkins, Lighter Life, LGI etc. etc.).

While they do have very fast results, they can also easily cause your body to consume lean muscle all the while they make most people feel like utter crap :)

Also (and by far the worst part), they seem to have the highest yo-yo rate where people pile on the lbs they lost very quickly if they slip up.

All that said, I'm 41 and have been "dieting" all my adult life, so I clearly have will power issues too :)

yeah im part of a bodybuilding forum

im not gonna get my carbs as low as keto, but im gonna keep my carbs less than 100g a day, fats around 60g a day and protein around 180g a day

then on weekends i do carb-up, where i have like 300g+ clean carbs

time to get to action, if you have more muscle and less fat that's better when taking propecia and better all round right?

I don't see how muscle wasting is possible on a ketogenic diet, as muscles are maintained by proteins. Initially (a week or so), you may feel like you have a little less energy, and nothing you eat seems to satisfy the craving for carbohydrates, but then it gets better. You feel like you're eating too much, and you're never hungry. Your energy is good. My body switched to ketosis today, and I don't feel bad at all, but I do have some experience with it. I had a course over 2 months earlier this year, and lost 12 kg. I went up 2 kg the months after, and the weight was stable until I started building muscles. Anyway, you just have to find something that works for you. Motivation is one thing. There are periods where most people eat untill they're stuffed - every day, for several days - christmas for instance. You'll probably put on some weight, and if you do, run a ketogenic diet for a week, and it's gone... it's all about maintenance.

It's very important to drink a lot of water while in ketosis, or you will feel really bad.

Yes, I don't care to explain now, but less body fat means less estrogen, and your body can use the 30% of DHT which it's still producing while you're on finasteride, to maintain tissue which is dependent on it, instead of countering excessive estrogen. It'll eventually deplete your DHT level and cause a lot of severe problems.

HT55, I travel a lot; I spend at least half the week away from home and often I'm out of the country all together.

Do you have a similar plan which is easily portable which I can prepare on the weekend and take with me?

I guess you would have to stay in hotels with mini kitchens and cook a lot in advance.

Let me tell you this diet works and you will keep your muscle but it's a pain, I spend a couple hours 2 days a week cooking the food and I heat it up.

It's the basic diet pro bodybuilders use , google Dave Jumbo Palumbo as he wrote it but it has been tweaked a little

If you are under or over 200 lbs you need to adjust it a little

Just one question; the total amount of carbs allowed each day is typically around 15g. Are you in ketosis all the time with those meals?

You can but stips OTC at your pharmacy that you pee on and will tell you if you are in Ketosis.

Don't forget most chicken breast is LOADED with sodium, check the label you want ~ 40MG per serving tops
