Are there any recent studies on dutasteride for hairloss?

I havent been browsing these forums lately. I am 21 and I have been taking 1mg of finasteride daily for about 17months now, my hair is pretty thin all over and getting worse. I dont think I actually gained any results on finasteride but I took it regardless. I experienced no real sides, mainly watery semen.

I am really uncertain about dutasteride, especially self medicating dutasteride by buying online. Have there been any recent studies on its effectiveness for hairloss and possible short/long term side effects. When is it likely to be approved as a hairloss drug, if ever?

Thanks a lot

Never

Once it gets old enough to loose patent protection, no company will invest the money to do phase III trials, since none could take sole profit from it. It will just be more available from overseas, if customs does not get smarter. If GSK were going to do phaseIII, 3 years ago would have been the most profitable time, since they would have more patent time, I think.

There was a phase II study, and maybe another study of similar size.

2.5 mg/day regrows twice as much hair as finasteride, and that is only 82% scalp dht inhibition. Side effects will probably be high at that dose, since 96% serum dht is inhibited. Put it on your head.
