Hey Guys Newbie here, well newbie to the forums. Anyway here’s my story for the people who are facing a similar situation and also posted some questions at the end, I know they’re not supposed to be on this board but it makes more sense putting the whole thing in one message.

Lets see where do I begin, It all started three years ago at the age of eighteen when I started noticing I was loosing more hair than usual. I took no notice of the situation because all my immediate family have all their hairs intact on their heads.

After I started Uni I continued to ignore the problem, probably I was in denial of the situation blaming it on stress or mal nutrition, plus my hair was very thick and bushy and I used to sometimes complain of the thickness, so I didn’t mind it decreasing .
It was only at the start of my second year did I notice not only was my hair falling at an alarming rate but also it wasn’t growing back and my hair line was slowly disappearing.

I didn’t know what to do, I thought at first the reason was because of the way I style my hair, I used to Blowdry it straight and then apply Gel/spray to style it.
I waited till April of this year, that’s when out of desperation I summoned up the courage to go see a specialist to tell me what I was dreading to hear.

He took one look at my hair and confirmed my fears, he diagnosed me with male patter hair loss stage 1 at the age of 20.
He also informed me that he could see my skull from where he was sitting which was totally unnecessary and untrue I might add.
I asked him if my Iron deficiency could be a reason contributing to the hair loss but he didn’t even consider the idea, his reply was “Poor people don’t eat but still have a head full of hair.â€

1) Maybe you should take a multi-vitamine+mineral supplement, an expensive brand is not necessary, nor is one that claims to contain 2billion% RDI content.

2) Finasteride effects people in different ways.. be you can be sure DHT is being inhibited. Just be glad your sex drive isn't like a 90 year olds.

3) Perhaps, but I believe the damage is minimal. Check to see if your gel doesn't cause your hair to itch, if so get rid of it!

4) A good daily shampoo is T-Gel (generic is available), and it stops irritation

5) Its easier to split 1/4 to ensure even dosage. But if you can do 1/5 well, go ahead.

Cheers
