I have read on here that its possible to get an autoimmune response to finasteride. which i get the sense means your immune system overreacts to change and attacks the hair follicles that experience a change from the finasteride? does anyone know if this is true?

Personally i wouldn't be shocked if it was, and it would answer alot of questions as to why nothing has worked for me. and why i got a scalp itch from taking finasteride and dutasteride. also explains why since stopping Dutasteide my body is completely out of whack. which sucks big time

Also explains why i experienced health type issues from some minoxidil type topicals

It's not true, finasteride does not trigger any sort of immune response. Neither does minoxidil.

Just to note, an autoimmune response to 5-α-reductase inhibition therapy has not been recorded since the inception of either finasteride or dutasteride.

Nonetheless, if you are speculating an autoimmune response has occurred in your body as a response to finasteride therapy, there are a variety of biomarkers that would help confirm or disprove your speculation. Since autoimmune responses initiate when the body’s natural defense system is triggered, a full-panel blood test with an emphasis on autoantibody analysis in addition to C-reactive protein (inflammation indicator) would give you valuable information as to whether your body is having an autoimmune reaction.
