Has Avodart reduced body hair in anyone? If so, how long did it take for this to happen? What areas of the body were impacted? Thanks.

I don't think it reduces the amount of hair more like reducing the diameter of the hair shafts slightly and it took about a year for it to be noticeable and then only by myself.

I haven't noticed any reduction, or increase, in body hair after 15 mo on dutasteride. If finasteride hasn't affected your body hair in any way, then it's doubtful that dutasteride will either.

While it may be doubtful, it's not certain that dutasteride will not affect it. I was on finasteride for 9 months and it did not affect my body hair...dutasteride I tried for a couple months and it drastically reduced what body hair i have. Unfortunately neither helped my scalp hair.

Trying dutasteride for couple of months  is not going to tell you if it works for you! and finasteride for 9 months is not really enough  try sticking to one for a full year!

I think you should have stuck with the dutasteride and given it a year, also if your hair is that bad why not give minoxidil, Nizoral and folligen a try with the dutasteride.

Jumping off finasteride after 9 months was not a good idea to start with and could have made things worse for you.

dutasteride takes a while to build up in your system if you are taking 0.5mg a day so a couple of months is not going to help you.

It is easy for me to say but then again I can stick to a regime and we are all effected by male pattern baldness on HairLossTalk.com that's why we are, where we are!

Freaking out about it and jumping about taking different drugs is not going to help you, maybe you could have been a NW7 if it was not for finasteride

And that's where I'm headed. Look I appreciate your help, but I wasn't even asking for it. I simply stated about the dutasteride and body hair, that's it. You can't exactly say what I should have done because you've not had the results I have had. So once again, thank you but you don't exactly know what the results I've experienced from dutasteride and finasteride have been so you can't tell me what I should do/have done. finasteride and spironolactone combined failed to stop it, dutasteride failed, Cyproterone Acetate failed...look, I've tried it all and the only thing that has helped was Loniten.
