Hello everyone,

Im a young man of 17 years , and i would try Avodart to treat my problems.

So... the big problem of my life is oily skin!!!!! I took accutane for 6 month .. the oiliness stopped but after 3 weeks it came back. Also during accutane my hair become very very weak.

I would like to try avodart.. but i heared that is not for young ppl and also can produce impotence.

Do you think ill have results with it?

Thank you,

Would not start with Avodart at your age.

Go see a Trichologist and make sure you have male pattern baldness. Sounds like you may have a different problem. Use nizoral shampoo will help oiliness.

If you are then could start with small dose of finasteride (generic propecia), 025mg or 0.5 mg per day.

Best really not to start meds until you are 18 or more.

Male Pattern Baldness.

The hereditary Baldness as opposed to other medical conditions that could be causing you to lose hair.

my dad is bald , also my grandfather.... so..

anyway the main reason i would like to try avodart is because i red many testimonials and talked with some ppl that had results with it and i understood that the reason i have too much oil is because too much testosterone is being converted into DHT type 1 5aR .

And about my hair now.. it became very weak after accutane (one of its side effects- hair loss) ...

I dont know who i have to ask because i wouldnt start it without an OK came from a derm ...

Here's the simple on it bud:

While your family history does give SOME indication of your having male pattern baldness, Accutane also has the potential side effect of causing hairloss, which may resolve itself over time or require some other type of treatment. Therefore you need to rule out this possibility FIRST by going back to your derm and being diagnosed.

You need to tell him striaght-up: "I need to find out whether my thinning hair is a result of the Accutane or the onset of Male Pattern Baldness." Make his *** do a biopsy or whatever is necessary. Then you will be in a much better position to determine the best course of action. And once you get a definitive diagnosis, we here can better advise you.

Best of luck.
