I read online that PA university had discovered that azidothymidine (AZT), an anti viral drug used to treat patients with HIV and certain viral related cancers could also be highly effective in preventing hair loss and stimulating hair growth.
It has been asserted that the only reason its not being made available to the public is that if people taking this medication for hair loss went on to develop HIV it would be AZT resistant, and thus any further spread of this HIV resistant strain would be more deadly, and very difficult to treat.
I'm wondering if anyone has more information on azidothymidine (AZT), or personal experience. I did see that a it could be purchased from united pharmacies in low dosages, and I was wondering if anyone has decided to try it?
Any doctors on this board, what would be the possible side effects or dangers from adding this to a regimen?
