Bald + Finpecia?

Hey,

I'm 21 and i have a bad receding hairline and my crown is very thin aswell as my entire head.

I'm thinking of taking finpecia for 1 year to see if it will do anything.

I was wondering if i shaved my head bald for a while, when my hair starts to regrow will it be thicker and is their a chance of regrowth? or do i need to let me hair grow long?

Shave it off dude.. I am just starting treatments (minoxidil. now and waiting for finasteride to arrive) and have shaved my head for 12 years. The length of your hair has nothing to do with how the drug will work. And yes from what I understand finasteride. can regrow hair..

finasteride and minoxidil together will help you regrow a certain amount of hair. In general, you wont be able to get all of your hair back, but these two drugs will help you get a decent amount back and help you maintain with it.

Thanks guys for the quick reply. I'm ordering finasteride tonight and im going to start nizoral today.

I will go goto the barber and shave my head bald for the 1st time ever tomorrow.

My plan:

1:Shave my head bald.

2: take nizoral + Take finasteride for 1 month to see if i have any sides. If no sides i take finasteride for 1 year.

3: ultimatum: if after 1 year my hair isint any better i leave it bald. OR if i acutaly like my hair bald i will get all my hair lazer permanently off.

For me its either 1. have hair or 2. no hair at all... i dont wanna see myslef in the miror my whole life and watch my hair fall out slowly.

What do you guys think?

I like your style dude.. That is the definately the attitude to take when it comes to hairloss. If the treatments work great, if they don't then f*** it, time to move on with life. Sometimes easier said than done but still, I think it is the attitude to have. The only thing I wouldn't do is laser your head cause you never know what might come down the pipe.. who knows maybe the cure comes out in 5 years and you can't use it cause you had your head zapped. I think it's stupid to get your hair lazer off...how if HM comes out in 5 yrs? You will be regreting big time.

you have a good attitude, tho lazering your hair off is a little extreme

finasteride will only maintain your hair. If you want regrowth, start using minoxidil (Rogaine foam).
