Since I started highschool, my hair has gotten thinner.. EVERYWHERE.
It became more noticable when my hairline went back and is still in the process. I also feel like the back of my head, the crown, is also getting thinner. Im currently using minoxidil 5% ONCE a day.Im currently using Nizoral every other day.

I havent seen any results in density of my hair or new regrow. I dont know how i can tell if i got any little results.

Im very active so i cant apply the minoxidil twice a day, as it would be too messy and i would sweat it off.

Application:Every other day , ill waash my hair with nizoral and ill rub it into my scalp and hairline and leave it there for a minute.

DAILY APPLICATION:with the use of a dropper i will apply less than 2 ml of minoxidl onto my scalp.
The areas include, the top of my head, the sides a bit, and some at the back of my head. I use this on all areas to over the areas that will eventually bald out, hopeing to stop the balding process.

I would like my hair density to increase, and become stronger and fuller. Even if it means no regrowth, i would just like to keep my hair and increase its density. What can i do to even do this or get new regrowth at my hairline?

Here is a picture of my hairline At February, which was before i started minoxidil.
HEre is a nother picture of my hairline at June, which is 4 months after using minoxidil 1X a day ( 2 mL applied) and nizoral every other day.

I personally think minoxidil made it worse.. What else can i do? I want my hair to increase in density and stop falling out, and i would like hair regrowth on my hairline as well. What level on the norwood scale would my hairloss be considered as? It does'nt look any worse. Also if you have been balding for the last 3-4yrs you will never have the same density as you once did. Remember maintaining what you have is a success. When you are 18 at least you can jump on finasteride. Also upload some better PICS (crown/top of head) you may get some more comments/replies.

Thanks for the reply!so even though im using minoxidil, it wont increase my hair density? :( Yeah thats what i want to do, maitain what i have and make the hhair stronger and increase density.l The crown of my head isnt recided yet, but the hairs there have gotten thinner. Ill do that soon, thanks for the reply xD.

As for finesterade.. that really scare me. The affects on my body are extremly scary and i wonder if its worth the risk. I even heard of a story where even if you stoped using the drug, you will still encounter side effects.. I wish my hair was just completly bald and i went through a hair transplant or something , so then i wouldnt have to wrry about maitaing hair for the rest of my life. :(

look at this sides video. Although most men have good results with propecia, you could be potentialy one pill away from destroying your life. http://www.propeciasideeffects.com/

Yeah, so ive been told. Unfortunatly, hearing all these scary things about propecia scares me. I can be one pill away from messing up my life and coping with uter depression. So.. i really dont know. I wish they could develop a oral pill that make your hair imune to DHT effects. this would be better as apposed to kiling DHT production EVErywhere in our bodies.

Thats my new life goal, to make a pill that will make our hairs immune to DHTs impact?

I can't really tell, looks about the same. If you have lost anything though, it'll just be an initial shed. Stick with it and you'll be better for it, the hair will grow back in.

Agree with the other posters though, you are fighting a losing battle without propecia. In saying that though, you shouldn't be using it before you are 18 anyway.

Grab a bottle of nizoral and start using that if you can.

Ugh, is it just me or are you pulling your hair apart at the temples searching for a little loss. I can make my 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son a Norwood 1 if I try that hard.

Analyze your family, including mothers father/brothers. You already know the answer, and so do we. Your paranoia speaks for inself so start on a low dose of finasteride.

it kills me that people have these crazy side effects from 1mg of propecia or once daily avodart....One of the top docs in the field will prescribe 2.5 to 4 mg of avodart that 5 to 8 times the prescribed dosage...I've taken crazy antiandrogens, along with 5mg of propecia at the same time...anything on the low end didn't touch my sexual desire. At massive dosages I felt a tiny amount of sides and they are compeltely reversible for me. If I've forgotten the meds on vacation they go away. I mean don't you get that you have this problem from 1. genetics and 2. too much friggin testosterone- so yes you must reduce the testost and if you actually do respond too negatively to these meds than you've got a difficult means of treatment.

you know of a Doctor that will prescribe 4mg of dutasteride per day?

Also what are these "crazy" antiandrogens that you took along with finasteride?

yea i agree with optimuse prime,
perheps you can try topical spironolactone, revivogen combo and nizoral.
i dunno how much effective it will be cause im using now loads of spironolactone and it does do anything for my hairloss.
finasteride gave me horrible sides.
dont take propecia the risk is to big,
some peoples will say its a bullshit and etc.
you shuold read some posts on propeciahelp.com before u start treatment with propecia.
good luck and hopefully youll find a good regime.

As keepinthehair said, you are showing no signs of male pattern baldness whatsoever and are likely just being paranoid.

Seriously dude, keep an eye on it (take photos periodically) if you're really worried and have a family history of male pattern baldness but otherwise get on with your life and certainly don't even think about messing with antiandrogens now.

thats not balding. forget about it and go away.

not everyone has a perfectly straight hairline. keanu reeves comes to mind, his hairline is like urs, and has stayed that way for decades.

but most males recede a little bit, its just part of being male. So i dont think ur receding, but if u are, its normal. If ur pulling ur hair up 20 times a day looking for hairloss, youll find it, cos youll cause it.

i wouldnt be using minoxidil either. it will be alot of trouble just for that tiny bit of receding, (if u hav receded, but i dont think u have.)

trust me. If u do lose alot of hair between say 16 - 25, youll look back at this and wish u didnt worry about it now. worry and panic over tiny recession, only leads to more recession, and it becomes a deadly loop.

but should an intial shed last 4 months? Yeah propecia is scary, im not sure i would use it even after 18. Alot of people had good results but terrible side effects.

Oh no, im just showing my hairline. If i didnt pull it back you guys wouldnt be able to tell. My family has a history of male pattern baldness. Hairloss runs in my family, both my mom and dad. My mom has a recided hairline, and my dad is nearly bald. Alot of people in my family have thing hair and the men have been balding. It really is unfortunate, but im not paranoid. I wish i was, then i wouldnt have to suffer from this hairloss.

I wish that was the case man. But i am reciding. If i shw you my hairline from 14, you will see the difference. My hairline isnt naturally like that, it used to be a box that was 1.5 inch above my eyebrows and now its gotten way back because my family has a history of hairloss. thanks!

Ive sort of already commited to minoxidl because ive been enduring its effects for 4 months. I agree, some peoples hairlines are like that, but mine wasnt like this. Its recided. Ill see if i have a picture of my hairline at 15 to show yu guys. Hairloss runs in my family, so im trying to do whatever i can to maintain the hair have, make it thicker, and potentially gain new regrowth.

would getting a buzzcut increase my chances of minoxidil affecting my scalp? afterall, theres less hair around to absorb on the hair, as apposed to the scalp. it would make it alot more easier to apply and i think i could be alot more efficent if if i had a buzzcut. the only thing that bothers me about getting a buzzcut is that my massive morehead will now be exposed to the rest of the world and im really embaressed about it.

Also, since im applying minoxidil twice a day now, will that increase my shedding?

Also, i apply minxo twice a day. 1.5 ml applied each time. So thats a total of 3 ml. i use a dropper to apply my product.

Ur missing my point. Most males are destined to recede. at least a little bit (apart from the lucky minority who dont) Even if u have receded, so what. Theres really nothing u can do at ur age other than keeping ur scalp healthy and free of fungi/bacteria.

U young guys come in here, expecting that modern day medicine can stop baldness. it cant. not yet anyway.

The cold hard truth is, Apart from a small percentage of good responders, minoxidil, finasteride, dutasteride etc never work as well as u hope. and theres shedding and side effects to consider.

Im not saying dont use them. Just wait until u r older, and its clear whether or not u r actually going to keep receding. They dont work well as a preventative, because u first have to shed alot of hair before u know how well u will respond. U might find u lose more hair, than u would have if u just left it alone.

secondly, u shouldnt be worrying about it at this age. There will be plenty of time to worry later, when/if its actually noticeable. I wish i hadnt obssessed over it when i was younger, because u soon realise when it actually gets bad, that that tiny bit of recession was nothing to worry about.

worrying now, only will lead to more hairloss. stop looking at it, and forget about it, or it will rule ur life and ruin ur late teens/ twenties.
