baldness among asexuals

If you have heard of asexuals, then you know that they are defined as "is the lack of sexual attraction to anyone, or low or absent interest in sexual activity." (from wikipedia)

I am only considering asexuals with totally absent interest in sexuality. I could see a young asexual man be less worried about baldness. Since he doesnt care about the reduced sexual interest.

And especially the ones where they are disgusted by sexual activity, i was reading about them on the asexual forums. They would be straight up GLAD to have gone bald since it means less sexual interest.

Although there's still the identity thing and people trashing/joking/mocking you (which i admit is rare at least for me), its still a nice loophole i've thought of.

I know many asexual people in my own community and several that I've met online and most of them still have a libido, many still masturbate even. They just have no desire to be sexual with anyone else. Quite often they become interested in sex if have a partner that they have a deep emotional connection to, but even then it is usually with that partner alone and not really what you normally think of when you think about romantic/sexual attraction.

I'm not an asexual, but there is a strong possibility I live my life without ever having a partner. I guess one reason I treat my hair loss is that having no hair would lower my chances of finding a partner. The biggest thing is that I feel like when I have long-ish messy looking hair it helps me communicate what kind of person I am. You know the interesting thing about asexuals is that many of them have sexual urges they just aren't sexually attracted to people. A lot of asexuals masturbate but they think about happy thoughts or just enjoy the physical pleasure they experience. Many asexual males masturbate to "relieve pressure", because of course the male body needs to ejaculate.

I remember a thread on one of these forums, can't remember if it was HairLossTalk.com or HLH, not sure if I could find it now. An asexual guy was basically chemically castrating himself to keep his hair. He literally said he would live with permanent ED if it meant keeping his hair. He said he didn't care if he never had sex because he wasn't interested in it, but was obsessed about keeping his hair for his own personal image, he hated the idea of being bald. Was using oral spironolactone, flutamide/cypro acetate and obviously getting a lot of flack from the other users.

These guys, man. Like I'm sort of reclusive right now, but it's by choice because of the transition I'm going through. Normally I'm quite extroverted and in online spaces I'm still that way now so when I'm in the same space as these guys it's just hard to really understand them. They literally don't know how to have a normal human interaction at this point.

It's kind of sad, almost like their emotional maturity stopped progressing when they were very young or something. Most (not all) of the ace women I know are pretty well adjusted other than the intimacy issues as far as I can tell.

Normally I'm quite extroverted and in online spaces I'm still that way now so when I'm in the same space as these guys it's just hard to really understand them. They literally don't know how to have a normal human interaction at this point.

but idk if those things being your entire existence necessarily is bad. i mean i think what would matter is whether its that person true desire or not. problem is a lot of basement dwellers really dont wanna live that way but are too scared to live life. i'm sort of like that but my nerdy passions are still a deep part of my life and who i am. u can have balance though, socialize and do those things simultaneously. it seems reddit is like that while 4chan is not. reddit = light side nerds 4chan = dark side nerds xD

but as someone who is scared of life sort of you hit the nail on the head on why i'm like this, i have less control over my emotions and urges than others. like fear overtakes my life and thats why i have anxiety, especially social anxiety.

thats interesting about the women though. its not surprising when you consider women generally have more people supporting them. for example the whole "you go girl" thing and white knights. i think men should take a page from women and support each other more, instead of this ruthless infighting (like in gangs and prisons).

I agree, balance is key. I've always been an avid gamer, consumer of tv/films, internet addict, etc. but that has never stopped me from having a healthy social life. I only take issue with it when it is taken to extremes, where that's literally the only things a person does. And by "take issue", what I really mean is I begin to wonder if that's what the person really wants or if that self inflicted social exclusion is part of a larger issue that should maybe be addressed. I wouldn't actively try to shame someone if that's just truly how they prefer to live their life.

I don't want to sound like I'm passing judgment on your lifestyle or anything like that, but have you ever considered psychotherapy? You don't have to be scared to live your life or bury yourself in your interests because of anxiety. Trust me when I say it's not good for your overall mental health to do that. I've found therapy to be pretty useful for overcoming a lot of similar issues. I mean I was always pretty extroverted, until my appearance went to crap and the dysphoria hit really hard. Therapy and improving my physique helped a lot (dysphoria notwithstanding). Other than social dysphoria from being seen as a male by the general public I'm in a much better place now because of a conscious effort on my part to fix what I could and having the power of mind to seek help for the things I couldn't fix on my own (therapy, addressing my gender dysphoria).

I mean, fair enough if you're just naturally introverted and prefer to live your life this way. Like I said I don't mean to sound like I'm passing judgment. I'm just saying things don't have to be that way if you don't want them to.

Exodus, your social anxiety stems from a very common fear called the fear of rejection. And with that you have a snowball effect of many fears like if you will every lose your virginity. I think your interest in asexuality is possibly due to the fact you might think you are yourself. Some people might think most middle age virgins are asexual but I just think they suffer from huge fears of rejection or inadequacy. Just remember, there is nothing wrong with being a virgin. Its not the end of the world for some people. You are a great conversationalist and that is a big plus for attracting women. And always remember, rejection can sometimes work in your favor as protection from a higher power.
