People say bald people look strong, masculine, virilie.... while People associate lost haired animals as unhealthy...

Thoughts on this and baldness-unhealthiness link? If my intuition is correct, people should associate hair loss with being old, unhealthy, weak..

I don't see anything masculine about being bald. At the end of the day it is just cope, especially these people who cope associating themselves or whoever they want to tell to 'accept' to famous men in hollywood such as Jason Statham, The Rock or whatever "badass" dude out there. Look at this guy, without any offense to him

Does he look masculine? Please. Baldness is a disease that ruins many young men lives, so I can't see any benefit out of it.

Some women might find bald men less attractive but never heard the idea of finding them weak. There have been loads of studies confirming women find bald men (shaved bald) look taller, dominant and more confident. Don't think this apply's at all to thinning and only if shaved. Personally I think it depends hugely on facial features.

They're probably thinking of a shaved nw1. Balding is a defect and caused by bad genetics. I don't think anyone finds it to be a positive trait.

I think the whole "baldness is masculine" stuff you see is just a bunch of coping and misinformation, probably someone heard balding had something to do with testosterone, thus obviously it means you have high testosterone! /s

While some people can still look pretty good bald, on others it can actually destroy their appearance. Most people I think get on average a modest drop in attractiveness, like if you were to use a 1-10 scale in looks I'd say a drop in 2 points is a fair average.

Also the fact that shaving your head is almost mandated at NW4+ in an attempt at hiding the balding pattern and "owning" it or whatever just completely disproves the notion that baldness is attractive.

I saw the study but how come shaved head look taller when hair easily adds height ?

some people add 2 inches to their height

Not sure, but if I were to guess I think it could be that baldness makes your head look bigger and taller since there is no hair to cover it, thus as a result to some it can make you look taller than you really are.
On the flip side you objectively lose height as you shave your head. It be 0.25-1 inch which is a lot for a short guy.

I have been fighting hairloss for 20 years and would rather do this than shave and look completely bald even if I'm diffuse thinning. However you say it or whatever you think about it, I have many friends and colleagues and know countless people who have shaved heads and/are completely bald that ooze confidence.

This is 100 percent not just 'owning it' its just NOT as big a deal to some people and, believe it or not, many have never even heard of these forums let alone obsess over hairloss on a daily basis.

I'm solely talking about shaved or slick bald, not bad diffuse or bad receded.

Well yeah of course life isn’t over when bald, I know bald guys doing well irl as well. I’m just talking about baldness aestethically, it does have a negative impact on someone in that regard.

Smp head vs bald head?
Not seen SMP up close in person. I use a concealer which i would assume gives similar effect of smp but I have my hair grown out a bit. If SMP was done correct I'd reckon it would look better than slick bald but would agree would be best suited to people with at least some amount of hair remaining.
