Well I just want to know how many of you here really dig music from those decades. My favorites are [in no particular order]

The Kinks
The Who
Them
The Doors
The Beatles
Black Sabbath
The Rolling Stones
The Beach Boys
Elf
The Yardbirds
Simon & Garfunkel
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
America
The Band
The Byrds

I might have left out a few bands on purpose or maybe I am not a big fan of their work but any recommendations would be nice.

I like Pink Floyd too but I cant call myself a big fan of Pink Floyd.Although many of their singles are absolutely magical especially some of their early work when Syd was around.

Oh sure...

Quite honestly, my fascination with Barrett's style borders on obsession. I'm pretty enthusiastic about 'Bob Dylan Blues', 'Lucy Leave', 'See Emily Play', 'Interstellar Overdrive', 'Astronomy Domine'... I own several Barrett compilation albums. Pretty big fan.

His story, I think, is rather tragic, considering his creative talent.

Just started learning to play this one on the guitar today:

Tom Petty doesn't appreciate his lack of mention.

Petty's the man, for sure. There's not a whole lot of artists that are as consistent as he his.
