I've had really good results with finasteride and rogaine.
I kept it really simple, my main goal was just to maintain what I had left.
-Rogaine in the morning and evening........ No itching or flaking( I did have burning when using generic brand of minoxidil, so I switched to rogaine and no more burning)
-1mg finasteride everyday...... no side effects, all is working good
That's it!!
I say be patient and don't panic because I've done the above for the last 14 months, And had basically zero results until recently. I actually noticed that at the 10 month mark, that my hair line and crown were worse. I was going to give up, but I still had supplies (rogaine and finasteride) and that's the only reason I kept on the regimen. Then all the sudden at the 1 year mark I noticed my hair looked like it was getting thicker, so I pulled out the mirror and looked at my crown for the first time in about 2 months and was shocked. Now at 14 months it's even better. I'm very satisfied with my results on my crown and with my hairline. I wish I had taken pics of the progress. From looking at the norwood scale, I'd say I went from a 5 to a 4.
The bottom line is Rogaine and finasteride are the only proven methods (as far as I know), so give it a shot, be patient and stick with it.
I will take pics now, just in case I get even better results.
Good luck to you all, hope everyone gets good results!!
