Been On Finasteride For 9 Months, Not Sure If It's Working

Been on finasteride for 9 months. Before starting my hair was thinner. Now it's gotten thicker I think. When I get out of the shower I used to see my scalp easily through wet hair. Now it's not as noticeable unless I move my hair around. My sister mentioned how it's much better than when I started as well.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I started off at .25mg everyday for about 6 months and switch .5mg 3 months ago. I'm now on 1mg.

The reason I'm not sure if it's working is cause I'm still shedding every day. The hair that falls out are thick long ones and short thin ones.

Anyone experience this as well or has any advice? I still have 3 months till the 1-year mark but not sure if it'll make a huge difference.

How much are you shedding?

Hard to say but If I run my hands through my hair, maybe 1 or 2 hairs come out. When I'm in the shower maybe 30-50 hairs and when I'm drying my hair another 20-30 hairs

That’s not bad. Average person loses 100 hairs a day. If you notice more than 100 hairs a day I would be concerned. But that’s just me. Some people say it’s ok to lose 200 hairs a day.

I wouldn't be worried if it was like long thick hairs falling out. But I have a lot of short thin ones falling out too. I'm guessing the ones trying to regrow back from male pattern baldness but never grow past 1-2inches
