been on propecia 5 years! afraid to switch to avodart though

i've been on propecia for about 5 years but it seems not to be working aswell! i was going to switch to avodart but after reading so many horror stories about people going bald in the front, im now confused! my hair is already thin in the front but i fear worse on avodart! does anyone have an opinion about avodart and frontal hairloss? was it really a true effect or mild simple shedding that grows back? thanks
