Hi Everyone,

I use to post on this site years ago and have not really been on it for a long time but I felt it would be good to come and share my story. Just like everyone on this site I was experience hair loss at an earlier age. I think my friends started to notice and make comments when I was around 25 years old. I was nervous and panicked realizing that yes I am losing my hair and going to be bald. I decided to do research and I begin taking propecia as a way to slow down my hair loss and it has worked out great for me. I have attach a pic of my hair today, and yes it is thinner than what it was but still holding up. I still take it and I have a long time girlfriend who knows I am on it and luckily no I have not had issues with my sex life. Overall it was a right decision for me and I think I have been on propecia for 7 plus more years now. Since I have been on it and my hair has remain relatively constant I don't think about balding anymore or my hair. I hope this message can help some other people out as I know what it felt like knowing that I was going bald. All the best everyone. IMG_0168.jpgIMG_0171.jpg

It's wonderful that you've responded so well to Propecia without any side effects. At this point, it seems like your hair should continue to hold up for life! :D

I'm a dutasteride-User, so I know how well these 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors work for treating Male Pattern Baldness.

Well he just said his hair is declining but holding up. So it shows the power of finasteride but also limitations on certain people. Overall the medication has helped him but he might want to assess a change to his regimen, risks v benefits e.t.c.

Oops, I didn't catch that!

Yes, he'll need to tweak his regimen and see if he can completely stop his hair fall in the long term. He'll probably need to consider adding another anti-androgen into his regimen if he wants to save all his hair in the long term. At least the Finasteride has done something to help out his hair.

Hi sorry for the late response and unfortunately I don't have any before pics of just my hair. As said before I use to have crazy thick hair and now not so much but still enough coverage. My girlfriend gives me a scale of 6 which she says if a light is directly over my head the thinning shows but if not it looks fine. I'm not trying to stop it completing by taking addition medication as I have been happy with propecia and how it has help. I'm 35 now and I feel great about my hair. I would say take the medication and continue to take it if you don't have sides and eventually you will be like me and forget about your hair loss and happy with the progress

Good thing you didn't make the same mistake that many others do on this site. Waiting/hoping for a cure that we may never see. Your hair would probably look like **** right now.
