There are many Low Level Laser Therapy products and brands available in the market: combs, tiaras, caps, helmets. Which one is the best?

it might work for people who had no hairliss at all, there is absolutely no condirmed study that proved that laser regrow hair
Some people have reported that their hairloss has completely stopped on LLLT. And if thats true it would offer a cheaper alternative than finasteride, with the same benefits and no side-effects

Lasers can slow down loss. If you're lucky, maybe even stabilize. Most likely won't regrow tons of hair. I have been using a helmet for around 5 years now. I'm pretty sure if I hadn't been using it, my hair would be way worse now.
Don't get the combs if you're gonna try it. They are not powerful enough and you have to keep moving them which doesn't focus the energy in one spot. Better off getting a helmet.

some people reported, that is no proof at all. if laser worked, than loads of people on this forum would have used it and shown pictures of the progress.

finasteride and minoxidil works, the rest is scams

what about the possible combination of laser therapy and wounding? I’m no expert, but it seems like a viable thing to try

Efficacy and safety of a low-level laser device in the treatment of male and female pattern hair loss: a multicenter, randomized, sham device-controlled, double-blind study.

CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE:
We observed a statistically significant difference in the increase in terminal hair density between lasercomb- and sham-treated subjects. No serious adverse events were reported. Our results suggest that low-level laser treatment may be an effective option to treat pattern hair loss in both men and women. Additional studies should be considered to determine the long-term effects of low-level laser treatment on hair growth and maintenance, and to optimize laser modality.

Problem is they don’t explicitly state what form of hair loss each patient had but they are fairly decent sample sizes

Is there any helmet you recommend? I have very slow hair loss. Probably the slowest version possible so I figured laser MIGHT work for me.

LLLT is not laser..anymore
its low level light therapy, or phobiomodulation. It works because PHOTONS hit the cells and increase ATP production and induce some others growth mechanisms not yet fully understood

Any light source works, in the past only DEFOCUSED lasers were powerful enough to deliver a given wavelength in the near infrared range which penetrates the skin - 800 to 1200 nm

Today LED are much more powerful than lasers ,for the same price. A led is just the same as a defocused laser.

Get some 20w LED in the 850 to 950 nm range on ebay, power supply and heat sink and you have a super powerful LLLT device for under 100 USD. The power rating of LED is about 10 times the optical power so you get the equivalent of a 2000 mw laser, and less risks of burning or eye damage of lasers, of course you still need to protect your eyes.

LLLT works but light will not pass hair shafts so it only works for very short hair or bald spots

there are good videos on Youtube on this, search for Dr HAMBLIN

I'm using LLLT (Ultima 12 Comb) for at least a year. And no, it definitely did not stop my hair loss, however, I believe it contributed to slowing it down a little bit. I cannot say it's all because of LLLT but I was using minoxidil before and it didn't really show any results, then I added laser combs + dermaroller for minoxidil absorption and to some extent I noticed a slow-down in like 3-4 months.

As for the best device, if you have a big budget, get HairMax cap, it has the most diodes for the price and hairmax is probably a pioneer in LLLT industry, if you look for some cheaper alternatives, get combs like me, takes 8 min every other day with ultima 12.

If you look for more in-depth info towards lllt for hair loss check: https://hairverse.com/laser-treatment-hair-loss/

I use the radiation from my computer monitor during my gaming sessions. No results in the last 22 years but I’ll keep you posted
