Best Topical AR Antagonist? (CB,RU, Eucapil etc?)

What's my best bet at maintenance using a topical AR antagonist? I've diffused pretty bad but started with much thicker hair than most people, with a maintenance mechanism and stimulant therapy I can probably achieve acceptable results.

Recently tried Finasteride (0.5 mg EOD over ~3 weeks) gave me brain fog (no sexual sides or ball ache) which basically makes me want to avoid all 5-ar inhibitors now.

RU seems hella untested and after suffering from a side effect on finasteride I didn't even know was possible in the way it manifested I'm reluctant to try this.

I am down to try CB but the HPA concerns are worrying and even after reading the CB thread it seems like the only way to source is to order directly from China or one of the many shops who source from there and get it purity tested because they can't really be tested. I have no clue how I'd go about achieving this and I'm fine with things being a pain in the *** but this seems very expensive and very sketchy :/

Eucapil seems very well tolerated but fairly ineffective. Leaning towards using this unless i can find a way to get CB in a non sketchy way.

Thoughts and suggestions?

Unless you are doing research, I wouldn't bother with experimental meds. But if you have the time and the money and the inclination, I guess you won't know until you try. Are you at least using minoxidil and keto?

Any CB you get is going to be likely even more sketchy and "untested" then RU. A forum member said they tested CB from the regular suppliers and it was under 50% pure CB. They have a high incentive to not give pure CB, as it's a very expensive chemical. If you can get your CB tested and it's pure, I wouldn't worry too much about sides you've heard about on here. I highly doubt many people on here have taken anything close to pure CB.

Not that I'm recommending it, but at least RU is cheap and they have much less of an incentive to give you anything but pure RU. It seems generally well tolerated at low doses but I certainly would not take anything north of 50mg/day.

If you want the saftest thing it will be Eucapil without a doubt, but again, not that effective and by all accounts seems more like an additive to a regimen that contains 5-ar.

Hey I've been using keto for a while now (minimum 3 times a week). I havent used minoxidil because it's basically my last bet. It'll save my hair's appearance for at most 2 years (my cousin had the exact same hair loss but at a slightly older age and he had to shave after 2 years and he had a better starting point than me). It also made his dark circles much worse after only 3 months. Basically I see no point in using a stimulant on diffusing hair without having a mechanism I have confirmed works for atleast slowing down the underlying hair loss. If nothing slows it down I may hop on min but I'm honestly just more likely to shave it off. Being bald at 24 - 25 isn't much worse than being balding and then totally bald at 27.

Yeah my biggest problem right now is that if I even want to try 5ar like topical duta (which pereceivably doesn't go systemic) I need to get over the brain fog and then the fear of the brain fog. I didn't know it was a thing while I was taking finasteride but now that I do and was shook by the effect I think im just going to be susceptible to nocebo once i hop on it.

Well, we have seen a pretty big rise recently in oral minoxidil usage. It tends to be considerably stronger because it carries an enzyme that topical min cannot create without a liver pass.

Second. If a "cure" does come, it might very well be a cure that only works on terminal follicles so you want to keep as many non-dormant as possible. Besides that, I agree with you. If I had known at age 20 that I would still be fighting this battle into my 50's then I might have done exactly what you are contemplating but you need to be sure because once follicles go dormant on an XY scalp, that's it. Only HRT and perhaps lesser so, oral min can revive dormant follicles.

I think eucapil is useless. Even their study is strange. I've tried it myself too.

I’ve tried it, have a few more little brown glass containers. Don’t think I’ll reorder.

What website did you guys order from? eucapil-shop.eu is going to take up to 2 months to ship to Canada so I was looking at www.eucapil-shop.com and I'm not sure if this one is legit.
I used the EU website as I’m in the United Kingdom, that website looks legit.
