Ok. Here is my theory.
Many people, included myself, have experienced recurrent periods of very healthy hair, with almost no shedding, with new hair growing stronger day by day. These episodes may last up to a month or so, to give place again to a brittle, thinner, weak hair, with shedding; these "bad" periods may last two to three months (may be more), in which all the treatments seem to fail. Again, some months later, we may experience another episode of "healthy hair". Why is that?. My theory is "food". The food we eat. There must be some molecule (that we are eating in foods) that is stopping hair loss, as long as it is circulating in our bloodstream, or transiently stored in some tissue. Now, which one is this food?. It may be a class of vegetable, or a type of fruit, or some class of meat, may be some milk derived food, who knows what is making the difference. It seems to me that the food/s responsible for these epsodes is/are not very common indeed, otherwise... the episodes of "healthy hair" would last years. Now, how can we identify the food?. By anotating, every single day, what we eat. And how we eat. I here propose that all of you that think that this theory may be true, start doing a diary of our breakfast, lunch and dinner. That´s it. Then, by appliying some statistical techniques (such as time series analysis) we can identify the food by relating the periods of healthy hair, with the periods in which we eat a particular class of food.
( Remember that there are foods that are eaten only during certain periods of the year, specially fruits here in Argentina). I particularly think that those "stational foods" are the key ones.
Who would like to join this project?. At the end, we may find out that it is just watermelon the "magic food", or may be pecan nut or ... who knows what simple stupid food is the magic one. It is clear, that is not some thing that we eat every day, but something rare.
I am already recording my foods, every day, since january first 2007.
