hi guys..

ive noticed that some people would go to great lengths to find a regimen aka cure to their current cephalic status. male pattern baldness or any type of hair loss is really devastating and can cause a lot of emotional stress (which we always try to hide)

Im a registered nurse and have been researching for 3 years now on finding attainable solutions to this seemingly inescapable circumstance. My goal is to find the simplest yet most effective regimen that would really recover the hair ive lost through the years ( since 20 years old...so slow i didn't notice it). This goal also includes that i find a regimen i can maintain and ofcourse afford cause i know il be doing it for a long time just to see results...and when that tiny results come in il have to improve and maintain it.

things ive noticed:(male pattern baldness)

1.people with male pattern baldness started with really thick hair ( i guess this is where the devastation comes in...not being used to little hair..plus people commenting "oh he had such thick hair back then! )

2.people without male pattern baldness say the most annoying things like "its all in ur head"---yeah right it was all in my head now its saying bye2x

3. Flaking and oiliness- ur head itchiness a little more everyday..u scratch it and flakes and ...hair falls off.

4. people try to offer u solutions that are either too expensive or are too good to be true. (these people dont have male pattern baldness)

5. Damn it causes alot of staring into space depression hehe

so just mentioning these things have led me to an approach that has given me a way to recover what was once rightfully mine

the regimen: within the body

1. finasteride 5mg.. 1mg daily or 1/4 tab (1.25mg)...yup its backed up with the studies its fda approved and it has less sides. they say dutasteride is more effective but il go with the saying with great power comes more side effects. i want to lessen the DHT thats causing this. DHT is bad on the scalp hair but its good on other parts of the body for growth and development. this is the base of the regimen. Ive tried dutasteride but i think its not good for most people. plus i cant cut the Avodart capsule into 1 mg cuz its in a soft gel cap.

2. the regimen: on to the scalp

id use minoxidil 5% 1 ml a day...id go for a higher concentration but this is wats available to me.. absorption of the drug to the scalp is limited thats why there is residue. so this is where the scalp massage comes in for better absorption. There are products out there that enhance absorption but its not part of simplifying the regimen that easy to do day after day.

3. Getting rid of the oiliness. I don't use shampoo anymore because i noticed that it made my hair limp. plus i noticed falling hair when i rubbed it or pulled it while staring at the computer. so i used a special soap. the soap really help (its a plant base which used for whitening) it really took out the oil and made my hair fuller . my scalp was oil free or until the next washing.

4. Scalp exercises..this one is new for me.. i read it in sum article without the BS of selling me anything. it explained things to me in a very logical way

5.sticking to the reg. and not expecting anything for 2-3 months. The fault i made in the first month cause i was so excited was to expect results. This caused me to look at the mirror more than 10x a day which caused a lot of depression. Also i wouldnt listen to others "advice" esp. if theyre not medically inclined or if they dont have male pattern baldness!

results: ive been using this reg. for 3 months now and it has had favorable results.the falling hair has stopped and there are little baby hairs filling up the temple areas. hair is thickened in the back now im waiting for more at the temples. i have pics in my success stories if u wanna see some.
id like to talk more with someone with my reg. and comments would be appreciated!!

Hey man, 35 here, first time posting. I had some insights on a few of your ideas as well.

I'm currently taking .5 mg Dutasteride 3 times a week, the rest of the week it's just propecia. Only mixing this up due to little money and more propecia left. Anyway, I've been on this routine, with minoxodil only at night.

Things I've noticed in the past year... the itchiness I used to feel in the thinning area is totally gone. I don't shampoo as much either, I do a lot of hair brushing and exfoliating the scalp with my hairbrush. It's helped tremendously... I keep the dandruff off and it seems the rogaine penetrates better on exfoliated skin.

I've had some hair come back, most of the gains are light vellus hairs that are just filling in the entire hairline area, but nothing really growing dark and strong yet. I still have high hopes, it's just been a year and I feel like this routine is working for me, I may have caught a lot of my "big" hairloss rather early, but only time will tell.

Only side effects I've had with dutasteride and minoxodil is an elevated blood pressure. I work out in an effort to keep it under control. I think the extra testosterone and luteinizing hormone dutas produces has helped with my muscle growth as well.

Sorry to be so long, I like your observations and wanted to add in some of mine. Good luck bud.

hey guys!! funny u say that guys with male pattern baldness all started with super thick hair. My hairdresser when i was a kid said i would never go bald... the damn clippers would get stuck in my hair when she would fade the sides. could years later she moved away and when i told her i was thinning she didn't believe me. its true man, people with thick hair when younger prob get male pattern baldness. sucks big time...

anyway i just wanted to comment. I've been useing nioxin (shampoo, conditioner, and scalp therapy) for 4 months now. I've also been useing finasteride 1.25 in morning and another at night. I bought a laser hair unit as i figured it prob can't hurt even though i'm skeptical of its usefulness. regardless about 3.5 months in i started noticing the thin blonde hairs around the front of my hairline you both have talked about. I actually just purchased minoxidil online the kirkland 5% brand from amazon tonight. i'm hoping this will give those blonde hairs density and colour. do either of you, or anyone else who reads this, know how to get those blonde hairs to mature? If I can do this i'm pretty confident I can get lots of my hair back.

Please help as i appreciate and idea's theorys anyone has to offer!!
