Hi Everyone;

Firstly I want to say a big thank you for all you guys sharing your stories and posting your pics. I personally found it really hard to take photos of my hair because I didnt want to face how bad the hairloss looked like from the top. But i guess I need to keep a record of my progress huh? Ill try to keep my Bio brief:

Asian Male, 27 yrs old
Dad and his brothers are completely Bald

Started going bald when I was 11yrs old - Must be a record huh? Well its true. As soon as I hit puberty my leg hair grew, my facial hair sprouted and I was loosing my hair. Parents were in denial so I was facing this problem alone. At 16 i was old enough to take myself to a specialist, my sister gave me the money for the consulation. I can still remember the pain when he said it was male pattern baldness and I had the problem for approx 5 years. he recommended a hair transplant when I was older.

Im 27 now, have a great life, great GF, great career so this childhood drama has not affected my positive outlook in life.

I started using minoxidil liquid twice before at age 22, and then at age 24 then quit again because of the sheds, i didnt think it was working for me becuase it was shedding my hair and I found it too hard to us, especially in the morning.

However by reading this site I am better equipped with info and will stick to the big 3 for at least 6 months to see how things go. I have already been on Propeica for about 18 months (I think it has slowed my hair loss but not completely stopped it). I just bout Nizoral aswell.

Will give everyone an update on my progress. Here are pics 1.5 weeks into the big 3 regime

Im really scared of the minoxidil sheds. Wish me luck on the big 3 guys! [/img]

considering you have been losing since you were 11 years old and you are the same age as me now (27) i think it is quite a slow progression,
i myself never lost 1 hair to male pattern baldness until the age of 26 and feel my loss is going to be rocket fast.

it most have been hard to deal with this for most of your life when you are still a young guy,you have my respect for sucseded in life even though fate has dealt you a cruel blow ,that said it does not look bad from the pics,

i wish you major sucsess in your battle with male pattern baldness

Thanks man appreciate it. Ive been really lucky its been a slow progression however being the only one out of your highschool friends loosing hair was pretty tough. I pretty much wear alot of caps when I go out and Ive been preparing myself to razor my head if it gets really bad in my early 30s.
Fingers crossed guys, bring on the sheds. Im ready for it.

Dude I cant believe you have been losing your hair since you were 11. So thats 16 years worth of hairloss, tbh that doesnt make sense since you have lost so little. You have receeded and thinned a little. My hair is probably worse and I am 23 and have been losing for nearly 9 years soon, I thought this was slow hairloss. I know what you mean about being the only one of your friends to get hairloss at a young age.

Your hair is fine, I would be happy at your age to have that amount of hair but its not going to happen

Are you joking? Why would you even wear a cap out at all. No one can even tell you're losing your hair unless you point it out, judging from the pictures.

I think you're exaggerating things.

You have minimal temperal loss, rest is very thick no diffusion. I had the same and it never changed for 10yrs without meds.

I would love to have hair like that again..I wouldn't have even started meds .I think far too many are getting on meds too early for only tiny amounts of recession that never move for years..its a serious life long decision to do meds.

BigGuns - could I ask where and your parents live, in Asia, Europe or America? Thanks a lot, it would be interesting to know.

Well, the aim of anyone should be to maintain hair with only "tiny amounts of recession". Prevention is the key!

He overreacted, admitted it and apologised. It may not mean much, but i'm proud of him. Thats more than i'm capable of sometimes.

thanks for your comments guys...

Thomas 99 - parents from Asia.

Busta bucket - not exagerating..Its weird man...its been a slow recession how ever I think its become alot worst in the past few months. My puberty actually hit overdrive when I was about 12..and I was growing facial and leg hair at an alarming rate..and I have a theory that DHT must of had some sort of a jump start and kicked in pretty early too but at a slow rate...I was talking to my mother and she mentioned she saw my dad began to lose his hair dramatically when they first got married..late 20s. When i hit my 20s ts become much worst and esp in the last few months has kicked in im going to be bald in no time now in my 30s if I dont put rogaine into the med mix.

Progess so far - 2 weeks into the big 3 regime - no major sheds so far. Will let you guys know how i got in another 2-4 weeks with close up pics.
