Hey guys just wondering what you think of these biopsy results. Lost more than 50% of my hair in 8 months now and just getting worse. On finasteride which has seemed to make it even worse. Could this honestly still be Androgenetic Alopecia or is the biopsy correct in suggesting FFA/LPP. Dermatologist says my scalp looks fine but I disagree it is pink and I do have a crazy flakey scalp.

It means you have both mild Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness) and a scarring hairloss. Keep on finasteride and get to a doctor for a treatment pathway for the scarring hairloss, because you need to halt it.

Most scarring alopecia biopsy diagnoses are wrong btw. Especially if you’re not experiencing sides of a scarring alopecia which is persistent inflammation and pain.

It’s probably just male pattern baldness

Couldn't hurt to try some milder topical corticosteroid like Clobetasol though.

I dont rly have “pain” just occasional scalp tenderness and itching throughout the day. Scalp is lil pinkish my wife says but not red. I have been using a topical steroid called elocon but its giving me scalp acne and scalp pain so i discontinued. Im hoping its just male pattern baldness but the onset of my hairloss was very rapid and I’ve lost hair on the sides of my scalp/sideburns which has recovered but thinned out againn after starting finasteride.
