So Im only 20, been gradually goin bald for about 3 years now, at crown and temples. ive been using revivogen since the beginning and it slowed it down a lot but recently with drinking and poor diet things got worse so i started using propecia. nearly 3 months in, something went wrong with all the major joints in my body and they started clicking, with mild pain aswell when i moved. convinced the propecia caused it i stopped (this was 2/3 weeks ago), and the problem gradually improved, although some clicking remains. i went to the doctor and had tests and although my liver function test was slightly abnormal, they put it down to a virus. (drink could have affected my liver, im a student). My question is should i start propecia again, or could it have caused my problems? I experienced no side effects until general joint pain/clicking. If not what can i do instead to maintain the hair ive got.

also a lot of the hair at my crown has become very uneven and rough in texture, darker than the rest of my hair and kind of curly, when the rest is straight. maybe it is caused by the use of revivogen, but the hair at my temples is normal. should i use a deep conditioner or something to sort this out? it seems to have got worse since i started uni (drinking and bad diet). my current regimen is just revivogen and nizoral although ive jst bought tricomin today. one thing to note is that this hair doesnt seem to shed at all and tends to be thicker than other hairs...? however its cosmetically ugly. any ideas?

Thanks very much to anyone who can be bothered to read and reply to this!!

I doubt that Propecia was causing the joint pain you described. I've never heard of anyone having such side effects. Try again, give it a couple of months and decide whether or not you feel you are tolerating it well enough to continue.

I'd hold off adding another topical to your regimen at this point. If you do try Propecia again then the Revivogen and Nizoral should suffice for the time being. Adding Tricomin is overcomplicating what should, at this stage, be a simple treatment plan. Use all three for 9 months to a year and if you are happy with the results then continue on.

I was on Finasteride in 2006 for about a year and came off it in 2007 due to financial problems. I then resumed it in October 2007 switching to Proscar (quarters) in August 2008.

From about April 2007 I noticed progressive knee joint pain which I put down to playing ice skating and ice hockey. I had physiotherapy from April 2008 to September 2008.

I've also experienced pain in my right shoulder since September which I put down to bench pressing in the gym.

It's only now that I've started thinking that it could be the propecia/proscar that might be causing the joint pain and having Googled it I've found there are others who are putting their joint pain down to the drug.

Is there anyone on here that's got similar reports?
