hey i just started rogaine a week ago and I was wondering, How many people have problems with black eyes or skin dryness, which are supposed to be some of the side effects. I wondered how common this is and if it is from using to much rogaine, or just happens to a few unlucky people?

I have it and it's common I guess. But beware, those black eyes won't improve, even when you quit minoxidil...

Black eye are an indication of poor blood circulation. Minoxidil reduces / lowers blood pressure and hence, if you already have low blood pressure, you will easily have this symptom.

Test your blood pressure before going on minoxidil and continue to do this each month.

As for dry skin - this will be result of the alcohol and minoxidil. Lowering blood pressure - results in poor circulation and poor dry skin. As above, check your blood pressure.

What about the wrinkles and puffy face that minoxidil can also cause?

Poor blood circulation. All linked. Each individual is different. Minoxidil cause hypotension. It was designed to reduce blood pressure. If you have low blood pressure already, your blood will not circulate the body properly and can give the above symptoms.

Chest pains are usually the most common symptoms of this drug. Puffy face is a result of water retention in the face. Another symptom of poor circulation.

If you come off minoxidil and these side effects still retain you must see the doctor straight away.

As I always say, check with your doctor first if you are ok to go onto minoxidil and constantly check your blood pressure.

Many of people have been successful with this drug and have little side effects. If you have had the above, you are in the minority.
