Say a person was to get a blood transfusion.
Is it theoretically possible for hair loss to be benefitted or detrimented by a blood transfusion since hormones are carried in the blood...what if the blood transmitted is from a female into a male and he gets an increase in female hormones

please no flaming. i only ask because i recieved 2 blood transfusions in the hospital and my hair was noticably thicker after being released and for a few months later

I have a feeling a transfusion should have nothing to do with it. Yes, the hormones from that other person will be in that blood but you will continue to produce your own. The donor may have had excellent hair genes but those effects would be too short lived to make a difference on your own head.

Interesting thread...

I'd presume blood transfusion wouldn't make a big difference. A certain hormone level might be high for a few days, but I'd expect the body to regulate the hormone levels pretty quickly.
