Let me start by asking: How the hell does john do this?

I THNK that he has had a small transplant along the front hairline. His hairline looks a lot like my surgically created one (but much better I might add!).

Great actor too!

Badasshairday: Click the link and you'll find a picture of John Travolta.

Johnny Depp having the best hair you've ever seen?? I dont think so. I'm not critizing any of these guys hair but i'd much rather have Micheal Douglas or Sean Penn's hair.

Man the Oscars are a joke most of the time. While they do give awards to the actual best in a certain catagory most of time it is a who does the academy like the most vote. While all the people that are nominated should be there, which is one thing they get right most of the time, the winners quite often come down to who they think should win and not the person that gave the best performance. What I have always found funny is that how a movie like Lord of the Rings: Return of the King can win Best Picture of the Year and 10 other awards, but not one of the actors from the movie are nominated for their performance. I mean if the acting was nothing worthy of being nominated then how can the movie win best picture? Nothing against Sean Penn, but Bill Murray's should of won for "Lost in Translation." I saw both movies and while Sean Penn did a great job Bill Murray played that character perfectly and gave a much more memorable performance. The bias of Hollywood, though, chose Penn for personal reasons instead of what he should of been judged on which was his acting ability. Penn had the a couple things in his favor from the start, one being Clint Eastwood directed the movie and lobbied for Penn to win. The other being that Bill Murray was mostly a comedic actor and the academy does not shine to people who have spent most of their career making comedies. One other thing is that most of Hollywood makes a habit of letting their politcal views influence the way they vote, which is also why Tim Robbins won. The voters got what they wanted, Penn bashed the government and the true winner lost because he is mostly known for his comedy, man the academy is really doing a good job.

i agree with you odelay.Bill murray should have won but since sean penn is more famous....he got the oscar.lord of the rings.....give me a fuckin break.like you said the movie itself won every award it got not any of the actors.I mean yea true the visuals were great but the movie itself was BORING!!!i mean in all three lotr movies there is only like 20 minutes of action the rest is spent talking .....f%ck that.I want to see bodies flying around and peoples hair on fire. Also was it just me or did every hobbit in that movie seem alittle fruity?

I think we should get together, form a "academy"
and start giving ourselves awards. Expand the number so the show takes about 4 hours. Dress up and basically show off AND get paid for it.

Pat ourselves on the back and take political shots with no chance of justifying our preaching and arrogance. (Boy I really miss Michael Moore this year but his twin brother got all those awards for Lord movie).

Yeah, that is what we should do. We will call it, ah, THE OSCARS! :hairy:

Yeah its complete sh*t, these people get paid millions to work half a year then they get awards evry other week, dont know why they are put up on such a pedestal. Yeah they make their political bullshit speaches about saving the world, then they get into their half million dollar cars and go home to their multi-million dollar houses and do nothing about it......

Last year, many "stars" arrived in the Toyota Prius, to show how GREEN they were.

Except for Ed Begley, the other stars rode to the show in a limo, got out a block from the building and arrived in their Prius.

So, that is really what all this Hollywood political bullshit is, smoke and mirrors.

God bless those hypocrits.

It doesn't matter if nobody won any acting awards for return of the king. It's simply an awesome movie. Great story line, great visuals, and great action IMO. I like the lord of the rings better than any other series, even star wars. It was a very unique series, each movie was better than 99% of the sh*t hollywood shovels us. I'm glad it kicked ***, I loved it.

im going to have to agree with what jblig said and that is that actors get paid to much for what they do.You said they work half the year....sh*t not even that they work about(sometimes more sometimes less)3 months and if your a good actor ..pff..you make around 20 million a movie.Thats absurd.
Hell ill act in a movie for 200 dollars let alone 20 MILLION.

Their job is pretty easy, but then, their work does bring in millions. So I don't think you can really make a legitimate case for being overpaid. It's better than a global conglomerate getting the money, at least in my opinion.

Who do you think pays their salary? We do. Buy renting the movies and by buying movie tickets. They dont make too much money. They make the right amount they should.

LOTR series kicks ***. I was weary of wathcing a sci-fi flick at first. But man, I got hooked when I watched them. They are really good films. I think they said it outsold star wars it's first week in the box office.

I particularily like the character Gollum

1 --> Actors deserve the money they make. Movies generate lots of revenue and if the money didn't go to the people that are responsible for its success where exactly would it go? Blue, you'd act in a movie for $200 but would anyone watch if they had to pay more then a dollar? Probably not. How many people can actually do what they do as well as they can. Not many.

2 --> They know jack sh*t about both politics and the world. They all talk about how much other people have fucked things up yet with all of their money they do very little to help the situation. Granted there are a select few who do but most just get stirred up about little blips they caught on the news.

Did you notice that there were no "AIDS ribbons" the other night. They were obligatory several years back. Then it was 911 ribbons. What ribbon is in this year??

Yeah they make way too much money, they arent profiting from people going to see the movies or rent them, the movie company that has the rights to the movie is gettin that profit. 20 mill for a half years work which in "average joe's life" is about 3 months of work actually done is way too much.....
