I turned 50 today, so I treated myself to a rare hairdye day. I use a dark brown to get maximum effect, and after scrubbing away the hairline residue the results are encouraging. A more even spread/mix of new short terminal and vellus, plus a more interesting combover, if I want one. Is it the Fluridil? I haven't used the laser comb for several weeks, due to work pressure. However, I usually take time to use the ketoconazole shampoo in the morning. I use a few other items, of more dubious pedigree. The finasteride is probably the keystone to my regimen, though it may have some effect on my libido, which is limited to times of day. My girlfriend is not really interested in sex after a hard day at work, and I am not bothered really. To be frank, I am committed to this project, more than sex, and she understands that. Sometimes she gets a bit worked up about the issue, and I have to ride the storm. But I would rather leave home than give up on a progressively realisable dream. You can have sex for five minutes, but if I can get a proportion of my hair back after many years of shiny baldness, should I not set that example? You wouldn't want to watch me having silly sex, but such new hair on a 50+ pate is surely worth a glance.
