Breast Enlargement / Propecia - Question

Hi everyone,

Had a question for users / ex-users of Propecia. I started Propecia last week, and took 5 pills (1mg) of Finasteride last week. By the fifth day, I noticed breast enlargement in both my right and left breast. I stopped taking Finasteride on Wednesday (it is now Sunday). Should I be worried that this breast enlargement is permanent (it has not abated since Wednesday)? Is there anything I can do / medicines I can take to revese this? My chest still feels kinda funny / itchy / tingly.

Just to note, I suffered from gynecomastia as a teenager, and had it operated 4 years ago. I had a perfect chest and a 10% body fat percentage.

Thanks so much for the attention!

I've been panicking since Wednesday about this and my chest will recede - please someone tell me it'll be okay!

OP, I see absolutely nothing wrong with your pictures. Your chest is actually flatter than the majority men.

Hi Wuffer, it might be a little hard to tell with the egregious amount of chest hair :0, but the chest is definitely inflated. Has anyone gone through this same issue?

it looks like the usual Finasteride 'phantom side effects' syndrome, from those pictures. No gyno at all. Although for once I don't blame you for being concerned since you've suffered from gyno in the past and had an op for it. But growing breasts after taking it for only 5 days is highly improbable IMO.

Just monitor it and try to be rational about it -preferably get a doctor to examine it. Or stop taking the finasteride to be on the safe side

Hi Quantum, thanks so much for the reponse. I absolutely agree, there is definitely a mental aspect behind this. After all, I suffered from gynecomastia for several years before I had it removed (it wasn't weight-related - completely hormonal).
However, I can absolutely tell (especially given that I stared at my chest every time I weigtht to the bathroom since the surgery 5 years ago) that there is more chest/breast, and from reading the forums, it doesn't sound like I'm the only one who has experienced this issue in the short time frame that I have taken it. I stopped taking the medicine last Wednesday, and have notived very marginal improvements. Should I expect the breast-related side effects to abate?

OP your chest looks absolutely normal to me. It's probably better for you to talk to a doctor.
