Hey everyone, after year of denying it i finally have given in to the fact that i am really losing my hair. I am 24 now going on 25, i slow starting losing my hair around 19, mostly in the frontal area (hair line) then around 21 it started to increase falling out in the front, then over the last year it has extremely sped up, i lose 20-30 hairs everytime i shampoo mostly in the front and sides the top(vertex) has minimal lose. after searching on google i found this site read through the FAQ's and many of the posts on this forum, but am still kind of at a lose on where to begin. starting with a Propecia and Rogaine regime everyday sounds like it has given the most people success, but after looking at a box of the 5% rogaine foam at walmart the other day i saw on the box it says that rogaine is for use with growing hair back on the vertex of the head, but my loss is on the front and sides, but on the other hand i read some success stories on here and saw people with frontal lose grow back their hair on this regime. so is rogaine able to work on hair lose anywhere on the scalp? my second question is which rogaine do you guys recommend, the foam or regular kind for just starting out? thanks in advance for any advice you guys can shoot my way.

Hi, welcome to the board, if you are sure that you are going to start medication you should get on finasteride first, the sooner the better. As for Rogaine.. many people have regrowth in the frontal area from it despite what it says, I've heard lots of positive things about the foam and would personally choose it over the liquid although as yet I haven't ventured into minoxidil.
