I have been taking dutasteride for over a year and there's no doubt that there's been quite a big change in my belly skin and abdominals.
Before taking dutasteride, even if I was fatter than I am now, my belly wasn't so puffy. Now it's almost as if I have a fat (or water) coat over my abdominals and hence they cannot show up.
Now, what I don't know is whether this is estrogen related or DHT related. I mean, could it be water retention as a result of more ER agonism or, on the contrary, could it be just that, lacking DHT, I don't have its muscle hardening properties anymore and hence this makes my belly look puffy and soft?

If it's the second option, I was thinking that perhaps, given the fact that there's a lot of 5ar type 1 in adipocytes, there could be a great improvement in my condition if I switched to a 5ar type 2 inhibitor (finasteride). My adipocytes could receive full potency DHT and, on the other hand, my hair, except for the fact that I would be blocking 90% 5ar type 2 (as opposed to 99% with dutasteride) wouldn't be much worse than if I had kept taking the dutas.
What do you think? Is this puffyness in my belly related to 5ar type 1 inhibition?

thanks.

yeah ive noticed this to with me.. i think its just water retention because of lowered testosterone levels and slighly elevated estrogen? Because the first few days on Dutas i was bloated like crazy but it gradually went away... yet the puff was still there.

Bump,

My face gets bloated and filled with water after taking dutasteride for only 3 days!

I keep trying to test this and it keeps happening, it sucks so bad!

Ive tried natural supplements, and they havent worked, my last option is to try a estrogen reducing drug like Arimidex or something.

Is it because of the lack of DHT, or the increase in estrogen?
