Buzz cut question

Anyone buzz their hair short and regret it because it made things look worse?
I have diffuse black hair(Asian) but at my current length it covers pretty well.

Is it true that diffuse thinners dont look as bad with a short buzz?
I wish I had lighter color hair because they look so much better buzzed than this highest contrast combo of light skin with black hair...

And sometimes I find myself wishing I was black, being bald black is 1000% cooler.

I think being black and bald isn't the 100% easy thing some people say it is (I'm white).
I know lots of black guys that keep their hair real short, and don't do anything with it style wise. Those people would generally do ok with losing their hair.
Some black men have long, stylish hair, and I think those guys would be as bothered by it as most people are.
I think the one benefit (some) black men have is that their hair and skin color are nearly identical. In general, I think the darker the skin, the better off you are without hair. Someone like Kevin Garnett is a great example of this. No hair, but his skin is so dark that it really doesn't matter.

That's Frederick Ljunberg, some soccer player.
What number clip is that, #1? Was he just receding or diffuse?

I expect after I buzz it to come out lookin like that.... but I'm afaid my hairloss is the uglier and shinier kind that will just make me look creepy. I guess I'll find out.

I buzzed mine about three months ago and while it doesn't cover up my thinning as well as a buzz cut, a buzz cut is just so much easier to live with. If I ever grow my hair back to what it once was, I'll just keep it like this. I usually just wear a hat now anyways...

I just buzzed my hair and must say, I am quite suprised. I didn't want it too short, so I went for a 6 all over, which is about an inch. It suprisingly doesn't look too bad. It makes it easier to pull in concealer such as toppik or nanogen. Also, it makes it easier to put in rogaine, etc etc. I am quite pleased.

I have diffused loss. I was also hesitant to do it at first, but I was just so fed up with applying topicals to my scalp with long thin hair in the way. You should just give it a go, buzz your hair the longest you can (I did a 6, which is 1 inch) and it shouldn't be too bad.

Even though I've diffused a fair bit, my hair looks better this way than long. With longer hair, the hairs are difficult to manage and you get tempted to come over some areas. With my hair short, the hair is easier to keep controlled and putting on a concealer like Toppik or Nanogen is much easier.

just wondering howcome your not on finasteride?

I used it for around 3 years, but stopped after I experienced some problems such as reduced libido, etc. And I am only young (24). Though I am told the side-effects were most likely psychological, I've become a bit sceptical about finasteride. I am sure it stops the body producing DHT, but I am not comfortable with that since DHT (from what I have read) is required to some degree for other things that make us men. Also, I am sceptical of the use of finasteride and long term effects, since no real study has been made of it.

I've decided to go down a more herbal route to reduce DHT (but not eliminate it) and focus on more topical methods to address the DHT problem at the scalp (such as nizoral, hair thickening shampoos, etc). I've only been doing this for about 20 days, and haven't seen too much change in shedding, etc. But I think it requires more time to make any judgments on my routine.
