Lately I have been putting gel in my hair,for a little extra style.Are there any types of gels I should stay away from?I heard some can build up over time and clog hair folicles.I have been using PROGAINE(made by rogaine)foam spray,should that be o.k. to use.Or should I spend the extra money and use some by a company like NIOXIN?

na yo stay away from gel. i been usin it for like 12 years and my hair isnt fallin out too much but it just looks like sh*t. i think my hairs fried. also it has no volume and it like sticks to my head like its glued there. i stopped usin gel now for like 6 months and its growing back better but still not as thick as it be before.

If using Gels or any hair product the key is to cleaning your scalp. True you will probably loose more hair if you use some of those new glue gels and spike and pull on your stuff. I know I really messed up my scalp bad over the last 2 years.

my hair was really poffy and frizzy so i used to put loads of gel on the comb it straight down with bangs then put a hat over it till the gel dried. i did this for like 10 years before i realised my hair was FUCKED. im almost positive this be the reason its so dull and lifeless now. you think since i stopped usin gel it will eva go back to normal?
