Hi, i have been responding excellently on minoxidil ever since i have added it into my regimen around 3.5 months back. I had been taking only finasteride for about 9 months until then.

I had slowed down my hair fall when i was only on finasteride, but it was far from satisfactory. I still managed to lose around 50-60 strands a day. Ever since i added minoxidil, it has come down to around 20. Very pleased.

Whats more interesting is that i have regrown atleast 25-30 new hair on my scalp which is around 1cm now.I keep my own hair 3inches long(to cover thinning and i use toppik) so i can easily spot these tiny new hair.I guess minoxidil is doing really well for me and mind you i am using it just once before going to bed.

Sadly though i have managed to pick up the sides of minoxidil as well. I have grown some unwanted hair on my face. There's some peach fuzz on forehead , around eyebrows and also between my sidelocks and eyes running down my brows. This is driven me like crazy and the last thing i want is hair all over my face.

As much as i want to reap in the benefits of minoxidil, i would like to get rid of its sides whilst using it.I have a few questions and i would appreciate if you can answer them :

1) Considering the way i have been responding, will the peach fuzz turn into terminal hair over time.

2) Can i resort to threading or plucking. Will that make a difference like say make it thick or stimulate it to grow more.

3) In case i opt for laser, will i be able to get rid of it all. In case i do get rid of it, will it grow back because i ll still be using minoxidil which incidentally is the main cause for it to grow in the first place.

Thank you

Yeah. Peach fuzz. Don't we luv it. In the UK we call it bum fluff. LOL.

If you shave the bum fluff it will go thicker. So if you want to look like a cave man go for it.

I too have a bit of bum fluff on the forehead but it is white. Best bet is to apply less minoxidil.

1) it might but very unlikely if it's an area hair doesn't usually grow

2) it's a total myth that plucking hair or anything along those lines will make hair grow thicker

3) i don't know if laser will help or not because i know it doesn't help in cases of people with werewolf syndrome but you obv have early signs of hypertrichosis which is a side effect of minoxidil though on the other hand it's exactly how it works if it gets really bad moving down to 2% (if you're on 5%) would help but you can lose benifit as fast as side effects
if i was you i would use veet for men or somthing like that to remove the unwanted hair

Well, i have just plucked it all out with tweezers :) . And yeah i am using lesser quantity than what i used to.Hope it makes a difference

If at all there is anything that can reduce or get rid of facial hair it would help my cause a great deal.

What gender are you? male or female?
As far as I know there's nothing that can remove facial hair permanently apart from Laser therapy or Electrolysis.
This is one of the reasons I don't like to use minoxidil. Once a hair grows it can be very difficult to get rid of it (unless it's on your scalp  )

Shaving won't make it thicker, though it will make it scratchy when the hair grows up past the skin level.

Some say that plucking hairs over and over will make them finer as the follicle takes damage. Whether this is true remains to be seen.
I think that Vaniqa has been discontinued. All it does is slow down the growth rate anyhow.

So very true, i am in splits now, for having started with it.But yeah, a few new hair for a thinning scalp is a always welcome :)

As far as vaniqua goes, even if it slows down hair growth, i would take it. Atleast it would slow down the removal process.

However, i read some reports on web where people have complained of hair loss on scalp as a side effect using the cream.
