Iv see that the Merck’s study says that dosage above 1mg of Finasteride has minuscule effect on dht and won’t give greater benefit. I have also read on here that you cannot build tolerance to finasteride.. yet this hasn’t been my experience any my lab results agree.

I have been on finasteride for over 3 years and it lost effect at 1mg.. the whole time I took finasteride I had lower libido, no morning wood, less hard penis etc.

This year it stopped working for me. My libido went back to normal, rock hard erections in the morning etc… hair texture became coarse again and dry. I upped dosage to 2.5 mg and my hair quality/texture returned to normal along with sides and no more hair fall.

I tried going back to 1mg and hair began to fall again along with coarse hair. I got dht test while returning to the 1mg dosage and my dht was high…


I took another dht test on 2.5 mg after being on that dosage for a month and it was drastically lower. How is this the case if finasteride isn’t dose dependent lol??


How can 1mg stop working if you supposedly can’t build a tolerance to it??

Can someone please answer these questions. I feel like there are some things in the Merck study that just aren’t true based on my own experiences and some others that I have seen on here.

I know that is a very bold statement but the numbers don’t lie. Please give me your thoughts on this guys.

Everyone responds differently. Perhaps some individuals develop a genetic resistance to the drug, and/or AR upregulation, etc. Did you have blood work taken?

Maybe in some cases higher doses can affect some people differently in a more positive way. I know some doctors have told the patient to increase the dosage to see if things improve. In medicine, sometimes you have to experiment to find your optimal dosage of a drug.
