Can I stop responding to Minoxidil?

I've been using 2% Minoxydil since June 2004 and I had the best result after first year of use. Vellus hair started to grow thicker and I thought it was going to turn into normal hair very soon. Instead of it, after a year it is weak and light almost as at the beginning, but it is still here. Has anyone experienced the same?

I'm assuming you were using 1 mL of 2% 2x daily.

Usually after the first year you can maintain with one dose, but I suggest you going up to the 5%.

Rogaine Prospect says that hair will grow for the first 48 weeks only.

It does not says what happens after that, but I suppose you should be able to mantain it, as long as you continue applicating the product.

Ahem.

My notion, and it's based on the best available evidence, is that all minoxidil does is provide an offset of extra regrowth. It probably doesn't actually interfere with the fundamental balding process. So if ALL you use is just minoxidil, then it's virtually inevitable that any improvemnt you get will start to fade after a while. That's not a failure of the minoxidil per se, just a continuation of the balding process.

Thanks guys.

That's what I was affraid of. I've included Saw Palemetto in my treatment now. I'll also switch to 5% Minoxidil. If this won't work, hope finasterid will. Cheers.
