Can I use minoxidil foam 2 ml, once a day?

Hey guys, so I just started using minoxidil foam today. I warmed it up like Kevin Mann suggested and then applied it as a liquid to the scalp, however I went a little overboard and applied roughly 3 ml worth of minoxidil. From now on, since I am only going to use it once a day and need to cover the whole NW6 area, can I use 2 ml minoxidil instead of only 1 ml?

I have the same problem ;) I heard somewhere that it is ok to apply minoxidil only once a day because its effect works 23 hours. There is also a youtube video with two dermatologists, where they talk about it and give the same answer. Search for something like "the hair loss show".

Hey thanks for your answer! Do you then double the dose to 2 ml if you only apply minoxidil once a day or do you still use only 1ml?

No dizziness or headache at those dosages?
Most people I know use it only once a day 2-3ml (for the whole head not just the top) out of convenience and if you are the type who gets headaches/dizziness from 2 ml you most likely will get it also from just 1 ml. If that happens you can get the 2% minoxidil (but it is also less effective)

You know, two percent might be a good point to begin titration and maybe to avoid sheds. Titration is key to avoiding shedding it seems.

I use more than the recommended 1ml to ensure proper coverage. Usually around 1.5 - 2ml. I've been doing this for a couple years twice a day (though as I've hopped on finasteride a few months ago I have been experimenting with applying it once a day). No sides or dizziness, but everyones mileage will vary.

With that said, once you achieve proper coverage I don't think applying more will do much.

It has to do with the amount of an enzyme call sulfurtransferase in the scalp. Non-responders can supplement this enzyme or try oral minoxidil instead. I think there is a brand of sulfurtransferase advertised on here.
