I've let my hair get the longest it's been in years and only know do I see hairs fall when I run my fingers through it and wash it. Since shedding changes when you grow it out should I be worried. I stress about it and today saw like 10 in the comb after washing and I wonder how many went down the drain.

Sometimes long hair can hide the progression of a receded hairline, but otherwise there should not be a big difference in shedding from short to long hair, only that it might be more noticeable.

10 hairs. Dude everytime I move my head 10 hairs fly out.

Amen to that. I think the tight crop thing can be overrated. Sure, if your crown is thinning, the crop is the way to go but if it's just a receding hairline, I'm a big believer in the long hair approch. I'm growing my hair long as we speak so I can have the "Murdering boyfriend from the first Scream movie" style. Forget his name. Then I'm gonna get some highlights, make sure those long bangs are sitting nicely and Bobs your uncle, a great looking hairstyle with my recession hidden and disguised.
